It’s official. Charges have been filed against Christine Quinn’s estranged husband, Christian Richard. The charges arrived two months after a violent outburst in their home, which led to Christian getting arrested twice in less than 48 hours. Since then, the Selling Sunset star has been in a nonstop court battle with protective orders, divorce filings, and more.
Three misdemeanor charges
Page Six reported the latest on the case. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, the case didn’t meet the requirements to count as a felony, so he was booked on three misdemeanor charges: child abuse/endangerment, assault, and violation of a protection order.
As a reminder, Christine alleged that Christian had a pattern of abusive behavior, and it all came to a head during an argument in March. She said Christian threw a glass object at her. He missed and struck their toddler in the head. Their little one had to go to the hospital, and Christian went to jail.
Since then, Christian filed for divorce and has been trying to refute all of the accusations. He requested a temporary restraining order against Christine and claimed she was lying about everything. That argument seems to have fallen apart, and Christine’s lawyers are satisfied with the update.
In a statement, her lawyer said, “We believe this development is a crucial step toward safeguarding the legal and personal interests of both victims and trust that the matter will continue to be handled with the utmost seriousness it deserves.”
As Christine and Christian continue toward their divorce, these latest charges will undoubtedly have an impact. In Christian’s divorce filing, he requested sole legal and physical custody of their son. That seems increasingly unlikely with these child abuse charges on his record.
