Ariana Madix and Scheana Shay are in a complicated position. Odds are, we won’t know the full extent of that position until after the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 finale.
An illustration of Scheana’s complicated feelings toward Ariana came at the news of Ariana’s casting on Dancing with the Stars. “It was kind of a punch to the gut, for sure,” Scheana said at the time. It was almost easy to sympathize with her here.
Unfortunately, she then did a 180 and said, “She has come such a long way from being my backup dancer.” On her podcast, Scheana later clarified that she meant no shade. But the damage was already done. And Ariana had taken note.
Ariana takes issue with Scheana’s “backup dancer” remark
Ariana recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live. During her time as a guest, a fan wrote in to ask if they were surprised by Scheana’s talking points in her confessionals this season. As they nodded, Andy Cohen asked which comments in particular had been most surprising.
“There was the backup dancer comment that I found interesting,” she responded. “I was like, ‘Huh.’” At another point in the WWHL episode, a fan called to ask a question on the same topic. When asked for her response to Scheana and Tom Sandoval’s Dancing with the Stars dreams, Ariana revealed Tom had been taking private dancing lessons.
Andy pointed out that Scheana had done the same. “Wow isn’t that ironic?” he asked. “Sure, don’t you think?” Ariana responded with a laugh. It must’ve been hard for Ariana to have sympathy for Scheana or Tom at that moment. She appeared happy to revel in their jealousy for the time being.
