If anyone wants to purchase the home of a Below Deck icon, then you’re in luck. Captain Sandy Yawn and her fiancée Leah Shafer have just listed their Denver area townhouse for sale. These two are moving to Florida, now that Leah’s daughter has graduated. However, their Florida ventures have recently hit a major, shockingly all too common roadblock.
Due to this, our Below Deck Mediterranean boss really needs to sell her spacious pad. I hate this for Captain Sandy and Leah. And let me just go ahead and Scheana Shay this piece by saying that I hate this for me too. I’ll explain why now.
Buy this house
Even though she’s currently knee-deep in her wedding planning era with Leah, Captain Sandy just took the time out to share their home’s listing. Priced at $685k, this 3,285 square feet home features four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a two-car garage, and an outdoor patio with a porch. In addition, the views are incredible, and the windows offer sweeping scenes of the Rocky Mountains from several vantage points. As for this home’s location, it’s located 35 minutes outside of Denver in the town of Parker, Colorado.
Their kitchen comes equipped with shaker-style cabinetry and quartz countertops. There’s also a large center island with a built-in sink and ample room for seating. Need a home office that doubles as a loft? Good, because that’s also included, as is a gas fireplace and a basement that boosts a home gym. This is a gorgeous home, so hopefully Captain Sandy and Leah will get their full ask, especially since these two will need every single dollar that they can grasp, due to their battle that still lies in wait for them down in Florida.
Do better, Florida
Oh, Florida. Let me first backtrack by stating that real estate has been booming in my home state as of late. Due to this, the rise of construction fraud has also greatly increased. Things are fairly unregulated down here in the land of the Florida man and the gators, and unfortunately, Captain Sandy and Leah have fallen victim to my state’s white-collar crime spree that’s currently trending.
In February, Captain Sandy took to the airwaves, telling First Coast News that their developers had gone “MIA with all of our money. We dipped into our bank account and used every penny we had, and this is our finished product,” she explained. She then added that they’d likely have to pay an extra $800,000 simply to finish their dream home in Nocatee, FL.
This is happening to me as well. I’ve been living in a home sans a kitchen (and other major ticket items) since October. I hate this for all of us. And also, I hope that Florida will start writing laws that aim to better protect its innocent against such blatant showings of greed.
Sell that house ladies. Brighter days are hopefully ahead for us all.
Below Deck Mediterranean is streaming now on Peacock.
