Guess what, y’all — Todd Chrisley is in some more trouble.
We told you guys the other day about the nearly $760K judgment he has to pay to a Department of Revenue investigator for defaming her in years past. The documents read that the Chrisley Knows Best star “began a social media campaign against the GDOR and certain of its employees, contending that the investigation was illegal and improperly motivated.”
Further, the papers stated Todd “began attacking” the investigator and “accusing her of a multitude of crimes and wrongdoing.” Well, Todd’s lawyer, Jay Surgent, told TMZ that his client would struggle to pay the hefty judgment — especially since he has no form of income right now. What a sad reality.
What’s next for the Chrisleys?
Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, began their prison sentences in 2023. The couple got a combined 19 years for defrauding local banks and the federal government out of millions of dollars.
Ever since reporting, the reality family has been vocal about the unfair treatment they felt they received during their case. The couple’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has led the charge on her parents’ appeal, which is set for April 19. Additionally, if it’s successful, they all remain “very hopeful” that Todd and Julie will be home by the summertime.
Also, Savannah and her brother, Chase Chrisley, have shed light on the alleged negative treatment their parents have received from prison staff members. “They’re hanging in there. It’s a terrible situation,” Chase said in an earlier interview. “The conditions are awful, and if you read all these headlines, they say the polar opposite.”
“They both have black mold, [and] lead-based paint; the roof is falling in on both facilities.”
