Summer House Season 8 is showing a lot of turmoil between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, and honestly, it is a bit much. However, I am very thankful that Amanda Batula is there to provide moral guidance for both her roomies. Even though Carl and Lindsay haven’t been the kindest to her in recent years, the dog mom has stepped up to ensure they have someone to talk to.
You will not always like the people you share your rental with, but Amanda does try. Between being the den mother for everyone, she cooks nice meals and makes sure everyone, including Kyle Cooke, gets into bed safely. This season is going to show Amanda coming out of her shell a bit more and finding her voice, which I am so here for. I want to see Amanda treat herself the way she treats her friends. Also, if there is an opening, Mandy, I’d love to apply for the BFF position!
Amanda is friendly
Almost every summer, one or two faces in the shared home aren’t used to the big group. Without a doubt, Amanda always tries her best to introduce herself and make her roommate feel welcome. We are currently seeing her do this with West Wilson and Jesse Solomon. The New Jersey native is engaging and charming, so it is easy for her to win almost anyone over.
Amanda has the best style
Everyone has that one friend they can go to in a pinch to help with a special outfit choice, and that friend for Summer House is Amanda. I would pay almost anything to raid this woman’s closet or just have her tag along on a shopping outing. Amanda is spunky, and even though her looks can be casual, they are always stunningly put together. I’m sure if we were friends, she wouldn’t mind loaning some of her garments; I’d do the same for her!
Amanda listens
Amanda is giving me life this season. She is literally in the middle of all the drama but in a good way. I was a bit surprised to see her being so kind to Lindsay when the PR guru was so mean to her. This past episode of Summer House showed Amanda trying to comfort Lindsay while she was in distress and calling her fiance “Cocaine Carl.” Amanda, who is a newlywed herself, also tried to dole out some advice in hopes of getting through to Lindsay. But above all, she just just listened quietly and took it all in.
Amanda did the same in return for Carl after his blowout fight with Lindsay on the pier. Even though Amanda has issues of her own, she lets them fly under the radar to give way to her roommate’s needs. She once again sat and listened to Carl, but this time, she added her own experience with Lindsay to the conversation to prove Carl wasn’t alone in his feelings. Amanda’s ability to empathize is one of the traits that makes her such a good friend.
Amanda defends Paige
It’s pretty icky when you see a guy trying to flirt with a girl he knows is in a relationship. It doesn’t say a lot about his character, for sure. But what is shown is just how willing Amanda is to stand up for her bestie, Paige DeSorbo. Jesse has set his sights on the taken housemate, claiming she is his “jam.” But lord help the frat boy who tries to hurt Amanda’s close friend as she makes sure to step in between his advances to give him a clear message.
What’s worse is that Jesse thinks he is so sly, telling cameras, “There’s so many girls out there that don’t have boyfriends, but the best ones typically do, and I’m a killer.” Luckily, Amanda is still around to keep reminding him there are other fish in the sea, and he won’t be plucking this particular one any time soon.
Good friends like Amanda, who speaks honestly and with good intentions, don’t come around often. Amanda is the kind of girl who will tell you what you need without making you cry. Give this one a gold star!
