Are Alex Baskin’s Bravo Shows Cursed After Scandoval?

Sometimes, Bravo has an off-season, but it is rare for multiple shows to show a sign of decline. But currently, that is what is happening with shows created by Alex Baskin. Alex is the CEO of 32 Flavors Entertainment. He’s also the mad scientist behind Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump Rules, and The Valley. The Executive Producer has been the go-to guy at Bravo for a while now, but it seems the curse of the Real Housewives might have rubbed off on him.

The Valley’s multiple breakups

The Valley’s season premiere turned out to be way better than I had expected. I also didn’t know how much I missed Jax Taylor on my screen- he’s made for TV. And Alex, of all people, knows this. But a few of his new stars are having major life difficulties. Shortly before the premiere, Jax and Brittany Cartwright revealed that they would be separating. Britt went as far as to move out of her shared home, citing the need to protect her mental health. That is not a good sign.

The rookies, Michelle Lally and Jesse Lally, are a struggling couple. The premiere showed them with two very different parenting techniques and a lack of love for one another. Again, shortly before the series aired, the duo announced that they had filed for divorce. What a hit for Alex and his new show! Essentially, an executive producer wants the drama to unfold on screen, not off it, in the very public eye.

Pump Rules isn’t getting great reviews

I said it once, and I’ll say it again. Vanderpump Rules should have waited six more months before picking up the cameras. Fans are already locked into what is going on in real time thanks to the media coverage and the stars giving away trade secrets. So it isn’t a surprise that the critics, aka fans, are panning Season 11. The drama isn’t so much drama as a very angry woman continuing to stay mad at a man who cheated on her. It’s not exactly an original formula, and to be frank, he just cheated. It’s not like he committed a double murder. That said, it’s not up to us to police other people’s feelings.

I genuinely believe that Vanderpump Rules is on its last leg, and Alex and the rest of the crew are essentially trying to get blood from a stone. The continuous milking of the drama has drank the well dry at the WeHo establishment, and followers are ready for something new. Fans are not only over Scandoval but they are over the rest of the cast. Katie Maloney is coming across as deservedly bitter, Ariana Madix is mad at the world, Scheana Shay is just a ball of nerves, the Toms are hopeless, and James Kennedy can’t hold up the series alone on his shoulders.

 RHOBH had a mediocre season

Season 13 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was supposed to have everything. Fans were supposed to find out a whole hell of a lot more regarding Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umanksy’s marriage issues but, instead, were left in the dark. The series had a perfect storm of events: a crumbling marriage and a possible lesbian affair. Yet, nothing was addressed. Instead, fans were greeted by an irate Kyle at the reunion, who made it clear she wouldn’t be sharing her business even though she is the one who signed up for a reality TV show. Come on, Kyle.

Besides Kyle, the other ladies failed to cross the finish line as well. Dorit Kemsley bored us all to tears with her same storyline regarding her PTSD. It also didn’t help that Bravo bought Annemarie Wiley, who had a serious fetish with esophagi. Even Erika Jayne couldn’t reel the cast back in since viewers gave up caring about her situation years ago after the news regarding Tom Girardi broke. Season 13 was a total bummer and the straw that broke the camel’s back for most fans and probably even Alex.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK ALEX BASKIN IS DEALING WITH A BRAVO CURSE OR STILL LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK?
