Another Real Housewife is standing up for Andy Cohen, and this time, it’s Heather Dubrow. Fancy Pants isn’t thrilled with all of the negative publicity surrounding Bravo. During a recent episode of her podcast, she made it very clear that her experience on Real Housewives of Orange County doesn’t align with what Leah McSweeney alleged in her lawsuit.
Heather stands with Andy
Heather dished about Bravo’s legal drama during the latest episode of her podcast, Let’s Talk with Heather Dubrow, via Podcast One. She acknowledged how reality TV has its challenges. Sharing your life with the world is hard. Still, she vehemently denied any wrongdoing on Bravo or Andy’s part.
Heather explained, “With all the news swirling about the shows and all that, I get really irritated. No one’s ever forced me to take a drink.”
Heather joked that sometimes, they could use more alcohol. Either way, she felt that The Real Housewives has been a positive platform for the dozens of women who have held the title. She noted how many Bravolebs have been able to branch off into other avenues, like podcasting, clothing lines, and liquor brands. Even though they have to share their struggles on camera, Heather said it’s ultimately worth the risk, and she thinks everyone should be thanking Bravo.
“They’re making money and thriving because of this platform,” Heather argued.
In Leah’s lawsuit, she and her lawyers claimed that Andy was a cocaine-sniffing madman with too much power over the network’s talent. Heather didn’t agree and had all positive things to say about her experience with Andy. She called him “fantastic,” and she felt like this whole legal situation was “gross.”
Of course, Heather isn’t the first Real Housewife to come forward in support of Andy, and she won’t be the last. However, Leah and her lawyers aren’t interested in hearing it. Earlier this month, they shot back at all of Andy’s defenders, criticizing them for trying to deny Leah’s “truth.”
Her lawyer said, “It doesn’t matter what people say or think. That Andy’s a good guy, or that you should expect to drink [on Bravo shows]. Or that you should expect this behavior. What’s going to matter is what the law thinks of it. And we believe the law thinks this is wrong.”
