The latest episode of Vanderpump Rules provided some context as to why Lala Kent and Katie Maloney are having conflict. Katie is steadfast in her conviction that Tom Sandoval shouldn’t be allowed back into the friend group, while the pregnant Bravolebrity defended Scheana Shay for her decision to forgive him.
It is interesting how outspoken Lala was during the Season 10 reunion against the cheating duo, but now is defending Sandoval’s re-introduction. And as rigid as Katie is to her decisions, there was bound to be a disconnect between the two.
But the Give Them Lala Beauty founder recently revealed that their issues started in between filming seasons.
Lala and Katie “distanced” themselves
Lala reacted to the recent VPR episode during her Give Them Lala podcast on March 13. She revealed that Katie’s comments that “the vibes were off” on her podcast rang true.
“Right before the reunion of season 10, Katie had gone on a podcast saying, ‘The vibes were off with us,’” the Bravolebrity stated. “Something had happened and … we just never came back to where we were.”
But Lala isn’t ready to give details as to what happened last spring. She continued, “It may be talked about [at] some point in time, I don’t know, I’m not going to talk about it today,” Lala continued. “But I feel like after that happened, we looked at each other differently, and we distanced ourselves.”
Filming Season 11 was difficult and the duo are “at a different place now,” but the two reality TV stars did end the season more amicably.
“There was just never resolution,” Lala explained. “It was one thing after the other that we just could not quite conquer and see eye to eye. As the season goes on though, you’ll see that we soften up with each other.”
As for the fight over Scheana’s decision to forgive Tom, Lala admitted being “mad at Katie.”
“I was like, ‘How dare you take me to a place where I look at you like you’re my enemy.’ … And I asked her, I said, ‘So why are you bringing this out of me right now? Like, you know me,’” she concluded.
