When we first met Dr. Nicole Martin on The Real Housewives of Miami Season 4, she swore up and down that marriage didn’t matter with her and Anthony Lopez. They already had a kid. He had a private jet. What more did they need?
Somehow, something changed in their relationship. Nicole and Anthony got engaged between their first and second seasons on reality TV. Since then, there have been zero wedding plans made. One thing that she does know is that they are absolutely going to have a prenuptial agreement. There’s no skirting around that, no matter how uncomfy it makes them feel.
No prenup, no wedding
Dr. Nicole opened up about her need for a prenup during Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6 reunion. When Andy Cohen asked her about wedding plans, she reaffirmed that it wasn’t going to be “anytime soon.” Then, he pressed her on whether or not they needed a prenup.
“There’s going to be a prenup, and I feel like that’s never a good conversation,” Nicole revealed. “You’re dividing assets, and you’re like fighting about your breakup before your breakup ever happens, and like maybe I’m gonna go on a yearly vow renewal mission like Marysol [Patton].”
Obviously, Dr. Nicole and Anthony have a lot of assets to fight over. We’ve watched them flaunt their unbelievable wealth on RHOM. Last year, they made headlines when they sold their Miami home to Jeff Bezos’ parents for $44 million.
Nicole and Anthony are wise for holding off on their vows until a prenup is in place. After watching Dr. Lenny Hochstein and Lisa Hochstein duke it out in court in their nasty divorce battle, that should scare everyone into double-checking the fine print on their agreements. Those two had a prenup, and the divorce has been a nightmare. Could you imagine what life would be without one?
The Real Housewives of Miami Seasons 1-6 are streaming on Peacock.
