Sister Wives’ Garrison Brown Dead at 25

It’s a very sad day for the Sister Wives family. On March 5, Janelle Brown and her ex-husband, Kody Brown, suffered an unimaginable loss when their 25-year-old son Garrison Brown took his own life.

In the last decade, fans have watched Garrison grow from a little boy crying because the family was leaving Utah to a grown man and proud homeowner in Flagstaff, Arizona. Garrison was a sensitive soul who loved cats. He had three he’d rescued from euthanasia.

According to the Flagstaff Police Department, Garrison’s younger brother and roommate, Gabriel Brown, discovered his brother when he arrived home. An investigation is in progress.

Yesterday, Janelle and Kody posted identical messages on their respective social media. “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him,” they wrote. “His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.” Janelle was Kody’s second wife in the polygamous family.

Garrison moved out of his mother’s home during the Coronavirus Pandemic. The family was massively divided over Kody’s strict COVID rules, TMZ reports. Many of his children remain estranged from their father to this day. Sadly, sometimes a tragedy such as this can bring a family back together.

Garrison eventually bought a townhouse in 2021, and two of his siblings moved in with him. His sister Gwendlyn Brown and Gabriel were both roommates with Garrison at one time. Gwendlyn’s mom, Christine Brown (Kody’s third wife), didn’t think it was a good idea for the three of them to move in together.

“They are very different politically,” Christine said at the time. “They’re very, very different.”

Garrison was very active on social media and loved to document his life with his cats. His last post on Instagram showed him with a new feline he’d welcomed into his family.

“Newest edition to my home, Ms Buttons,” he wrote. “She’s 9 years old and was on the line for euthanasia, but my savior complex couldn’t suffice.”

In addition to his mom and dad, Garrison leaves behind three “bonus” moms (Meri Brown, Robyn Brown, and Christine), and 17 siblings. My heart goes out to his grieving family.
