The reality TV world is still reeling from the allegations against Bravo Daddy Andy Cohen. Just days ago, former Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney filed a lawsuit against both Andy and Bravo.
One of the claims Leah made against the executive was that he did cocaine with some of his favorite housewives. The lawsuit did not specify which ones, but now some of Bravo’s biggest stars are defending Andy, including RHONY alumni Dorinda Medley and Luann de Lesseps.
Dorinda and Luann are defending Andy: “Not in his character”
Luann told TMZ, “I’ve known Andy for years and It’s not in his character. I never ever seen anything — in the years I’ve been doing the Housewives — any drug abuse.”
The Countess added, “You can’t force someone to drink something, you have to be the person that picks up a drink.” Luann also went through her own sobriety journey, which was featured on the show.
Dorinda, who was put “on pause” from RHONY in 2020 but has since appeared on two seasons of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, shared a similar sentiment. She added that she “feels terrible” for Andy.
Dorinda also noted that she had a good working experience with him over her years on RHONY. Additionally, she wondered why Leah would partake in a season of RHUGT if the accusations she was making were true.
Other Bravolebs take to Insta to defend Andy
Other Bravolebrities stepped up to defend Andy in the comments section of a Page Six Instagram post about the story. “I’ve done WWHL about a dozen times and I must admit I’m jealous I was never offered anything stronger than a good wholesome time,” wrote Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi of Shahs of Sunset fame.
Real Housewives of Miami cast member Guerdy Abraira also shared a positive experience with Andy. “I Will speak for myself … been around Andy many many times and have NEVER been offered anything but good hospitality.”
Leah’s lawsuit also claimed that Andy and Bravo took advantage of her alcohol problems in an attempt to boost ratings. The clothing line designer said in court filings that when she “refused” to drink, employees working on the show would try and find other ways for her to break down on camera.
We’ve certainly not heard the last of this.
