Welcome back. Let’s get right into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 finale recap. Last week, Erika received some closure from Sutton and Crystal. During this week’s episode, titled “Soirées and Separations,” Kyle once again hosted her over-the-top White Party. But she was also forced to deal with her marital problems with Mauricio. Here’s everything that you need to know about RHOBH Season 13, Episode 17!
The White Party is back
Remember Kyle and Mauricio’s iconic White Party from earlier seasons of RHOBH? Well, it is back, but Kyle has gone bigger than ever. This time, it is at SoFi Stadium, and Erika is performing. I guess if you want to keep your mind off your marital problems, this could work. Temporarily.
“The White Party is very nostalgic for us because this has always been about our family,” Kyle said in her confessional. It is tough not to feel sad about Mauricio and Kyle’s marriage while watching clips from previous parties.
Kevin Lee, who planned Lisa Vanderpump’s daughter Pandora Vanderpump Sabo’s wedding, was on hand to make sure everything went off without a hitch. “Shi-Shi-Shi!”
Erika was thrilled that Kyle asked her to perform. It was the perfect warm-up for her residency in Vegas, and she was ready to prove herself.
Dorit is disappointed that PK can’t attend the soirée
Dorit wasn’t happy that PK was still in London for work. He has been there for 25 days. He knew that The White Party was on the calendar. While PK claims to understand Dorit’s PTSD, his actions don’t support his words. And Dorit worries about the future of their marriage. Shocker!
The White Party kicks off
The field at So-Fi looks amazing, but I guess a $400,000 budget will do that. Kyle freaked out when she saw her name on the flooring in bold black letters. Once again, she took a shot at LVP. “Why is Kevin not getting that this party is not all about me? Oh, I know why,” Kyle stated. “He’s used to throwing parties for other people who do think the party is all about them.” Even Erika questioned why Kyle’s name was emblazoned across the floor.
Mauricio rolled up and couldn’t believe his eyes. He’s “feeling vibes” from the cheerleaders. Just … no.
All the RHOBH ladies were amazed and impressed by the party. Faye Resnick, Kyle’s BFF Justin Sylvester, Cynthia Bailey, Camille Grammer, and Jeff Lewis attended the event.
While Kyle and her daughters crossed the field, Sutton shaded Mauricio for once again being MIA. He was grabbing something to eat. Finally, a producer let him know that he should meet his family on the field.
Later, one of Kyle and Mauricio’s friends stated that Mauricio thought that the party was being held in the parking lot. Have you met your wife, Mauricio? A party in a parking lot is not her style. Unfortunately for him, Kyle went over the details the night before, and Mauricio didn’t listen.
Denise Richards returns
And guess who strolled in late? Denise Richards and her hubby, Aaron Phypers. Denise sported a pale pink jacket over her white ensemble, and Dorit asked if “pink was allowed.”
But Denise didn’t care. For this event, Denise was coherent but very shady.
Erika prepares to take the stage
Erika needed to kill this performance to keep the buzz going for Las Vegas. Erika’s biggest critic, Denise, believed that Erika was lip-synching. “Thank God the cameras are way over there,” she remarked. “I know I’m a bitch.”
So, Erika performed XXPEN$IVE. Dorit called Erika “a real showman.” Afterward, Kyle embraced her friend, telling Erika she was proud of her.
So, what has the RHOBH cast been up to?
Erika is planning on more videos, music, and shows to come in 2024. And after 39 days in London, PK returned home. However, Kyle and Dorit haven’t spoken since December. Yikes!
Meanwhile, Crystal and Annemarie haven’t spoken since The White Party. Thank goodness Annemarie is no longer giving out unsolicited medical opinions. And Crystal has accepted that her brother Jeff lives in Thailand for part of the year. He also has a new girlfriend.
Garcelle is enjoying all her parenting, grandparenting, and professional accomplishments. She also won the Astra for her film, Black Girl Missing.
Finally, Sutton is continuing to work on Sutton Brands while having her son, James, full-time. And she has been spending quality time with Santos, her horse.
Kyle and Mauricio’s fairytale ends
One month later, on July 23, 2023, news broke that Kyle and Mauricio had separated. Their co-stars were stunned. Dorit spoke to PK via phone, stating, “Kyle never ever gave an indication that they were separating.”
Annemarie chatted with her husband, Marcellus, wondering if Kyle leaked the news to get ahead of the story. Crystal’s husband, Rob, was questioning who planted the story. Could it have been Morgan Wade?
Meanwhile, Sutton spoke to Garcelle via phone. “This didn’t happen overnight,” Sutton said. “I think Kyle was lying to us this whole time.” Garcelle agreed, especially because of all of Kyle’s lifestyle changes.
Kyle opens up to Erika
When the story broke, Kyle and Mauricio were with their daughters. While Mauricio was concerned about who leaked the story, Kyle was worried about the effect on her family. The couple released a joint statement, stating that they had no plans to divorce.
Erika came over to comfort Kyle. She appreciated how Kyle was there for her during her divorce, and she wanted to help her friend. The actress shared that there wasn’t one huge event that caused their marital issues. “It’s these things I’ve been like needing and wanting more from my marriage, that you know, I just can’t get.”
Erika asked if there was infidelity on either side. “There’s literally nothing to do with anybody else. This is really just about Mo and me,” Kyle replied. “It’s not about our family. It’s not about another person – on his side or my side.”
Kyle explained that her husband is “the person that likes to pretend everything’s okay, which makes it hard sometimes.” She continued, “When we first met, we were really opposites. Complete opposites. And that worked,” she said. “We always grew. Because we’ve been together since our early 20s.”
Kyle broke down, admitting that she wasn’t “proud right now.” She felt like she was letting everyone down. Erika set her straight. “There are only two people in this marriage. So everybody else’s opinion can f*ck off.” She urged Kyle to take the time to discover what she needs to be happy and fulfilled.
The family meeting
One week later, Mauricio and Kyle were waiting for their daughter Farrah to arrive. Tension has been high between the couple. Mauricio joked, “I’m just glad it’s you the one that’s, you know, out there having an affair.”
Kyle replied, “Well, for once it’s me.” Mauricio grimaced at her remark. Portia, Sophia, Alexia, and Farrah all gathered in the living room to talk with their parents. Mauricio explained that they didn’t tell them details earlier because they wanted to protect them. They never intended for them to find out so publicly.
Kyle told their daughters that they “haven’t talked about divorce.” When asked what happens next, Kyle stated that they are taking “a little space” while they work through their issues. Living together in the same house adds to the complexity of the situation.
“We’re a very strong family, and we always will be,” Kyle told her daughters. “Always will be.” In her final confessional, Kyle admitted, ‘I’ve come to realize that, you know, there’s a big chance that we’re not going to end up together.”
A producer asked what problem the couple couldn’t overcome. Kyle replied, “There were things that happened that made me lose my trust that I wasn’t able to … recover from.” The show ended with a montage of happy family moments.
As for her update, Kyle made up with her sister, Kathy Hilton. But she and Mauricio are still living separate lives. “I just want to be at peace wherever I’m at ’cause I haven’t really had that,” Kyle said. After she was told she was done filming, she sobbed, “It’s over.” Did she mean filming the show? Or her marriage?
This season has been a rollercoaster, and watching the decline of Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage is awful and sad.
