Love Is Blind Season 6 star Matthew Duliba is setting the record straight. The 37-year-old senior financial advisor from Charlotte, North Carolina, found himself in hot water, portrayed as the season’s bad boy. Why, you ask? Well, Matthew dove into the dating pods armed with a list of questions, challenging his dates, dodging questions, and seemingly making dramatic exits mid-conversation.
But wait, as ET reported, Matthew’s got a plot twist for us. He’s stepping into the spotlight not to own his villain role, but also to share his side of the story.
Lack of alcohol and editing
After the Love Is Blind Instagram page showcased a highlight reel of Matthew’s less-than-chivalrous moments, he couldn’t stay silent. From the depths of the comment section, Matthew revealed a juicy tidbit: he tackled the whole experiment sober, thanks to his alcohol-free lifestyle.
He believes this was a stumbling block in forming connections right out of the gate. But that’s not all — Matthew suggests there’s been a bit of creative editing at play, hinting at a narrative spun to cast a shadow over his character.
“I look forward to telling my side of the story with the full truth at the appropriate time,” he declared, addressing a specific incident where it appeared he left a date hanging mid-chat. “Misrepresentation of the truth, never walked out when a woman was talking.”
Interestingly, Sarah Ann, another participant and alleged victim of Matthew’s abrupt departure, backed him up. She took to her Instagram Stories to clear the air: “Nope, he did not. I’ll let Matt speak on that, but we are good.”
The plot thickens as we learn Matthew did indeed form connections with Amber AD Desiree and Amber Grant. However, the drama escalated when they discovered they were receiving identical sweet nothings from him. Confronted by AD, Matthew chose to exit stage left, declaring his pursuit of Amber instead.
So, what’s the real story? Was Matthew misunderstood, a victim of selective editing? Or is there more to this tale of pod-based romance? Stay tuned!
Love Is Blind Season 6 drops new episodes on Netflix on Wednesday, February 28.
