Basketball Wives Alum Brittish Williams Remanded to Custody After Losing Plea

Time’s up for Brittish Williams. After spending the last few weeks fighting her four-year prison sentence, the feds have remanded the former Basketball Wives star into custody. She’s currently awaiting processing into a prison in West Virginia to start her sentence.

The process started back in October 2023 when Brittish was told she’d be imprisoned for her role in a bank and wire fraud scheme. She was sentenced to 48 months behind bars and ordered to pay $564,000 in restitution. Her sentence was originally supposed to start in December 2023, but she’s been fighting in court to postpone her surrender date. Radar Online reported all of the details.

The timeline for Brittish’s court case has been messy as the former reality star and radio host has been battling to stay out of prison. The courts found her guilty in October 2023 and scheduled a surrender date of December 11, 2023. Immediately, she started complaining that her celebrity status impacted the outcome of her case.

When faced with her surrender date, she asked the courts to push it back so that she could spend one last Christmas with her daughter. The judge agreed and pushed it back to January 3, 2024. They gave her the whole holiday season to spend with the family, but still, Brittish didn’t surrender. She and her lawyer were too busy cooking up more excuses.

The day before her surrender date, Brittish filed a motion with the court to try and reduce her sentence to 32 months. They argued that she shouldn’t surrender to prison officials until the courts decided on the motion to reduce the sentence. No one was buying that.

A week later, Brittish was arrested and held in custody until her recent hearing. Despite her best efforts, the court denied her request for a lighter sentence. They told the Basketball Wives star that she got lucky in the first place with her four-year sentence. It could have been longer. Plus, the fact that she ignored her surrender date didn’t really sit well with the courts.

Brittish and her legal team put up a good fight, but the feds always win. Since they denied her motion for a reduced sentence, they sent her to prison to start her time. We’ll see you in 2028, Brittish.
