Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Are ‘Family No Matter What’

It’s getting more and more clear that the “love beans” aren’t – and might not ever – be love beaning anymore, but that doesn’t mean that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky will ever be completely detached.

We’ve seen the long-married couple basically function as tatted-up ships that pass in the night throughout The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13. The finale airs this week, and who knows if we’ll get a clearer answer about where this fractured marriage is going? Ahead of it airing, Kyle is making it clear that she, Mo, and their daughters will always stick together as a family regardless of the outcome.

Kyle says her marriage is still up in the air, but she and Mauricio will always be family

During a conversation with PEOPLE at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, Kyle shared insights into how she and Mauricio are hammering out the fate of their 28-year union. They separated in July 2023.

Kyle says she and Mo are still working on figuring out how they’re going to move forward. However, family will always come first. They have daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 15. Kyle is also the mother to Farrah, 35, from her previous marriage.

Kyle explained, “We’re a family no matter what. And we love each other, and we’re just trying to figure it out. So right now, it’s not on pause. We’re actively navigating through this and working through it.”

She says whatever they decide, they don’t want their family dynamic to change.

“We’re not going to be in this situation forever, whichever way that goes. Time will tell, probably sooner than later, but we’re hanging in there. The good thing is we get along well, and we were at an event last night together with the family. And I don’t know, it’s been working for us. It’s kind of strange, but hey, like I said, we’re family no matter what,” said Kyle.

Kyle says she hasn’t watched the upcoming RHOBH finale, in which the cast finds out about the separation, and she and Mauricio tell their daughters about it.

Kyle admitted, “Last week I didn’t watch because I didn’t want to watch that scene with my children and my husband. I actually have no idea how that turned out, and I don’t think I want to know. I was there, and I don’t need to feel that again. So it’s really hard. It’s hard.”

Sigh. It’s been hard for us to watch this entire season too, Kyle. Season 14 could give us a “Kyle on the dating scene” storyline. Or, a “Kyle and Mauricio Aspen vow renewal in Kemosabe hats” plot. Fun for the whole family, either way!

The Season 13 finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesday, February 21 at 8/7c on Bravo.
