Vanderpump Rules Season 11 featured an unlikely hero. It wasn’t Ariana Madix and it certainly wasn’t Tom Sandoval. No, it was another Madix, albeit with a different spelling – Ann Maddox.
From Ann’s very first moments on VPR, she impressed fans to no end. To have to work for Tom would be a burden in and of itself. Viewers have seen Ann not only approach her work with an unimaginably cool head but also with relatability.
With everyone eating up everything that Ann had to offer, it was only a matter of time before outlets started reaching out to her. Read on to find out more about Ann and her time working for Tom.
Ann said news of Scandoval “broke [her] heart”
In an email to the New York Times, Ann described her reaction when she first heard about Scandoval, saying she had “brushed it off as tabloid hullabaloo.” Unfortunately, she soon found out it was all too real. “I was crushed,” she wrote. “It broke my heart and it took a long time for it to sink in.”
The NYT also pointed out all the reasons that fans are quickly falling in love with Tom’s former assistant. For one thing, Ann almost feels like an audience insert. Her more down-to-earth personality compared to that of the regular VPR cast along with her bewildered reactions have captured audiences’ hearts.
On top of that, her generally cheerful demeanor and attempts to avoid confrontation are refreshing and relatable. In the Times’ profile of Ann, readers discovered she is a Floridian who graduated from the Florida State University Film School. She worked as a transcriber in reality TV and an assistant in postproduction. She’s booked commercials and small TV roles in the past.
Ann also revealed a love for improv comedy, a field in which she’s hoping to gain more traction, especially now that she’s done working for Tom. In her email to the Times, Ann declined to comment on her employment with Tom. However, on top of an up-and-coming comedy career, the NYT reported rumors that Ann was hired as an assistant to none other than Ariana Madix.
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
