Welcome back. Let’s dive right into The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13, Episode 16 recap. Last week, Kyle shared details about her marital troubles with Dorit. During this week’s episode, “Diamond in the Rough,” the ladies enjoyed Annemarie’s diamond-themed brunch. Here’s everything that you need to know about RHOBH Season 13, Episode 16!
Erika obsesses over apologies
Erika met with Dr. Jenn, her therapist. She reflected on how hopeless she felt back in 2021, and how she is now on an upswing with her Las Vegas residency. Erika also noted that her estranged husband, Tom Girardi, urged her to follow her dreams. As Erika put it, Tom was “the safety net so I could walk on the high wire.” She no longer has the money safety net, so now it is more scary.
Erika was still stewing over her RHOBH co-stars not erupting in applause when she won the appeal regarding her earrings. Dr. Jenn feels that Erika wanted support when everything went wrong, but instead, she was judged by the ladies. As Dr. Jenn told Erika, “You know who’s got your back, and who doesn’t.”
Sutton went for a ride
Sutton went to visit her horse, Santos. She always wanted a horse, and it reminds her of spending summers with her grandparents when she was a child. This will be Sutton’s first time riding Santos, but he knows her. And Sutton noted that it is like her dating life. “Sort of like when I’m dating someone. I get to know them first before I ride them,” she quipped. I love Sutton this season.
Kyle came to watch Sutton and Santos. Afterward, they discussed the Barcelona trip. Sutton was emotional about letting her marriage go. That morning, she texted Christian and wished him “goodbye and good luck.” Whereas Christian used to be just down the street, now Sutton is truly on her own.
Kyle confided that she and Mauricio are going to therapy together. She shared that their work commitments have caused distance between them. At the beginning of their marriage, the couple started with nothing. So, their lives have changed dramatically. Sutton said that both people have to make sacrifices. But Kyle has supported her husband their entire marriage. Now she would like to feel like a priority in her husband’s life. Good luck with that, Kyle. Unless you decide to work for The Agency, you won’t see much of Mauricio.
Garcelle and her son Jax take on cyberbullying
Garcelle was setting up a GoFundMe for Cybersmile, which is a campaign against cyberbullying. Garcelle’s son Jax was getting terrible messages from bots last season. Cybersmile approached them, and Jax stepped up. He wanted to help other kids.
Garcelle was proud of Jax for trying to make a difference. And she finally agreed to give Jax more freedom. Exactly how that looks remains to be seen, but seeing their relationship play out on screen is a real delight.
Awkward scenes from a marriage
Kyle and Mauricio were hanging out at home. Kyle was happy that they were in couple’s therapy. While Mauricio called the sessions “fun,” Kyle pointed out that she “wasn’t laughing in those sessions.” They then agree on the adjective “good” to describe therapy. Oh, my Lord. This is making me cringe. Can we have happy, fun Kyle and Mauricio back for a few minutes?
Mauricio stated that there is so much happening in their lives that “it’s become really hard.” Kyle felt like she wasn’t being heard, and I can see why. It is like they are having two different conversations at the same time.
“I want to be in a place in my life that I feel happy and fulfilled,” she told her husband. In her confessional, Kyle said, “I’m not going to stay in a situation that … that I’m not happy in. The things that I wouldn’t want my daughters to accept, I’m not going to accept for myself.” That sounds like the final nail in the coffin for this marriage.
Annemarie brings the bling
Annemarie hosted a Diamonds and Champagne Brunch for Mother’s Day. She was hoping to finally resolve her lingering tension with Crystal. There was a beautiful spread of fresh seafood, cheese, meats, and desserts. Oh, and a jeweler. There was a necklace for $3.5 million. Wow!
Meanwhile, Sutton was bemoaning the lack of handrails as she gingerly climbed up the steps. That could be because she brought a roadie. I suspect it was empty because Sutton was ready to party. While Sutton was shopping for diamonds, Erika was just looking. She has had enough jewelry-related trauma. Smart move.
Erika told Crystal that she was happy that she apologized to her. And she wished that some other people had also. Here we go AGAIN!
Annemarie and Crystal talk it out
Annemarie pulled Crystal aside. Crystal thanked Annemarie for being there for her during her health scare in Barcelona.
And Crystal thinks that they should both agree to disagree and keep it moving. Shockingly, Annemarie also wants to move on. The rest of the ladies sent Kyle in on a covert mission to spy on the duo. But by then, Crystal and Annemarie were hugging it out.
Sutton’s second date
Now, tipsy Sutton filled her co-stars in on her second date with Steve. He sent her a text telling her that she “looked very beautiful.” She added that he mentioned that they hadn’t kissed yet. “He wants a blowjob, honey,” Erika stated. Before Sutton ventures there, she needs to see a health certificate. I believe it.
While Erika insisted that she has never had a complaint in this department, everyone gave props to Kyle, even though she doesn’t “blow and tell.” Who says Real Housewives shows aren’t educational?
Erika confronts the ladies
Erika decided to share something that had been bothering her. She discussed going through a tough time, and how she “was disappointed” that the ladies “were not there for me.”
Erika continued, “Half of me wants an apology from certain people in this group that did not believe in me. The other half of me says ‘No. If they wanted to apologize, they would.’”
When Dorit started to speak, Erika clapped back with a reminder of how, at Kathy Hilton’s infamous Dinner Party From Hell 2, Dorit mentioned everyone being pulled into the “situation.” In her confessional, Dorit broke down how being one of Erika’s friends wasn’t easy. There were news stories constantly, Erika couldn’t discuss it, and she showed no empathy for the victims. Dorit added that she and Kyle had “blind support” for Erika.
Sutton owns her behavior
Kyle pointed out that Sutton and Garcelle had one position. And she and Dorit shared another. While they may have objected to the way that Erika dealt with her issues, they believed that she never knew anything about Tom’s alleged crimes.
As for Garcelle? She stated that she “had an opinion” and she was standing by that, although she didn’t want Erika “to fall.” Sutton emerged from her drunken haze to apologize to Erika, and Erika thanked her. When Erika broke down in tears, Sutton embraced her and repeated her apology. Kyle added that she was sorry if Erika didn’t feel enough support from her.
Erika admitted that she won’t get the apologies that she seeks from the entire group. But she feels like she has closure and was pleased that Sutton apologized. Thank heavens we won’t be hearing about the earring appeal anymore.
Next week is the Season 13 finale! We should find out more about what led to Kyle and Mauricio’s separation.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills continues on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
