Lindsay Arnold Details ‘Scary’ DWTS Tour Bus Accident

Life on the road isn’t for the faint of heart — even if it’s a Dancing with the Stars tour. Lindsay Arnold just opened up about her time on the Dancing with the Stars: Live! tour, and she shared a terrifying story about a time when their DWTS bus was involved in a massive accident. It’s a wild story, and she shared all the details during a recent episode of Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe.

At this point, Lindsay has done a ton of DWTS tours, but it was the 2018 run where she and a few other DWTS pros had a serious brush with danger. When Lindsay described it, the moment seriously sounded like a scene from a Final Destination movie. She shared how the experience left everyone shaken.

The terrifying details of the DWTS tour bus accident

Picture it: Iowa 2018. Lindsay, her husband Sam Cusick, and DWTS pros Brandon Armstrong, Sasha Farber, and Emma Slater were traveling on their tour bus through a snowstorm. Lindsay said they were used to driving through bad weather because that comes with the territory of touring in the United States during Winter. However, this time, things went seriously awry.

Lindsay said she was minding her business and riding on the bus when she felt it suddenly veer off the road. She said all they heard was the sound of those dreaded rumble strips, and they knew something bad was happening.

“The scariest thing about this crash was just how when you’re in the bus, like, you kinda really don’t see anything on the road or outside of the bus,” Lindsay explained.

After the bus went off the road, their belongings got flung around the bus and Lindsay said she hit her head. All of the cabinets on the bus swung open, and everything went flying — including Sasha.

“I had hit my head during one of the first bumps,” Lindsay said. “And Sasha, being the sweetest ever, stands up to try to help me and then that’s when we ran into the back of a semi.”

The show must go on

Luckily, the DWTS team all walked away from the incident with minor injuries; just bumps and bruises. However, everyone else in the pileup wasn’t as lucky. There were dozens and dozens of vehicles involved in this wintery crash, and some people died. It’s a terrifying reminder of just how dangerous it can be to travel in wintery conditions.

After the crash, the DWTS team was back on the road with only a small hiccup in their schedule. They only had to cancel one show, because, after all, the show must go on. Still, Lindsay said bus rides were never the same after that.
