Fans of the Real Housewives of Atlanta are still reeling from the news that hit this week about Kandi Burruss choosing to take a break from the series. Since Season 2, Kandi has been an important asset to the RHOA cast as she taught us to fly above the haters, and if you “don’t start none, there won’t be none.” The mother of three didn’t feel like waiting around any longer for a season that wasn’t being cast. Fans’ minds are turning, thinking about who could replace Kandi’s big shoes, with Porsha Williams’ name continuing to pop up as someone to fill the RHOA casting gap.
It isn’t a surprise that fans would like to see Porsha back in the ATL since she often gave so much to the show. Between spilling the tea, bone carrying, or just lashing out, she was often the one to watch. So, can Porsha bridge the gap between the new and the old housewives? Yes, she can!
Why Did Porsha Leave?
The mother-of-one’s departure came only a few weeks after she shared she had become engaged to Simon Guobadia, whom she had met during the filming of RHOA Season 13. He was the then-husband of ‘friend of,’ Faylnn Pina. On her reason for leaving the show, Porsha told People, “I was turning 40, I was hitting my 10-year mark on the show, and I really just had to reassess where I was and what I wanted totally out of my life. So that’s where that decision came from.”
Porsha Is At The Perfect Stage Of Her Life
The 42-year-old is living a pretty cush life as of late. She has been traveling and even dipped her pinky toe back in the Bravoverse by taking part in the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Porsha has also been working on her business, Meaningful Beauty, where she just collaborated with Cindy Crawford. It seems like everything is going right for the former peach, and she could be poised for a remarkable comeback.
What Would Porsha Add To RHOA Season 16?
If Porsha were in the mix for RHOA Season 16, I believe the dynamic would certainly shift. Last we saw Porsha; she was at the forefront of the Black Lives Matter movement as she traveled to Lousiville, KY, where she continued to protest and was arrested. Porsha has come a long way from not knowing the history of the Underground Railroad to calling for change.
It would be really nice to see her now as a mother and an older woman walking in her father’s footsteps. I think fans also want to see inside her marriage to Simon. Between the homewrecker vibes and luxurious weddings, her newlywed angle would be quite refreshing.
How Will Porsha Mesh With The Other Peaches?
If she were to come back, she could be the leader of the pack as a respected mini OG. Currently, we are not sure who the other cast members are. My guess would have to be Marlo Hampton could return, as well as Sanya Richards-Ross, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora. I’d love to have Shereé Whitfield back, and with Porsha already having worked with her once, it could be a good stepping stone to reintroduce her to the group.
Even Porsha’s frienemie, Kenya, would be happy to see her reclaim a peach. She told Page Six, “I think we made great TV together. You know, I think we’re the best frenemies. Some of the best times on that show have been created with me and Porsha.” Kenya pointed out that “Some of the most iconic moments have been created with us being onscreen together. So I feel like that magic could still exist if she comes back.”
She isn’t wrong. They once had a massive reunion fight that included props like a bullhorn and a scepter, which ended with Porsha on the ground crying after lunging for Kenya. There was also the “Gone With the Wind” fabulous moment. I truly believe that Porsha would fall right back into her routine of being one of the best Real Housewives of Atlanta ever. Bravo just has to send out the official invite.
