50 Cent might be doing the right thing according to a judge, but this whole situation with Teairra Mari doesn’t quite sit right. The Love & Hip Hop star sued the rapper back in 2018, along with her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad.
At the time, Akbar allegedly logged into Teairra’s Instagram account and posted explicit photos and videos of her without her consent. 50 Cent soon reposted the images to his millions of followers. Understandably, Teairra sued over “significant long-term emotional injuries, requiring psychiatric services.”
Unfortunately for Teairra, the famous rapper argued that the images had already gone viral before he posted them, dodging any responsibility. In 2019, a judge agreed, awarding 50 Cent $30,000 to cover legal fees. But things have taken a downward turn since then.
50 Cent calls to “enforce the judgment” on Teairra
As per legal documents obtained by Radar Online, 50 Cent has filed a Writ of Execution against Teairra. Addressed to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office, this Writ implored officers to “enforce the judgment,” growing with “daily interest.” Peculiarly, 50 said Teairra’s last known address was in Atlanta, Georgia, and didn’t reveal why he suspected she had assets in California.
50 Cent was not joking about the daily interest. What started as an award of $30,000 (plus $5,000 in sanctions and other fees) has snowballed into over $50,000 for Teairra. The reality TV star has yet to pay anything to 50 Cent, meaning the award has grown by over $14,000. But that’s not for 50’s lack of trying to collect.
He accused Teairra of failing to turn over relevant bank records and other information about her income. He once hired a private investigator to track Teairra down. She eventually appeared for a debtor’s examination in court but argued that she had no assets for the rapper to seize. She said she’d be open to a payment plan but failed to present one. As such, the battle is ongoing.
