Of course, we expect weird love triangles on Vanderpump Rules. That’s basically the point of the show. Still, no one had a Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz love triangle on their bingo card for VPR Season 11. In the trailer for the upcoming season, we get a glimpse of the two exes sharing a kiss with the same woman, Tori Keeth. Weird, right?
The premiere of Season 11 is right around the corner, and the two exes both spoke to Us Weekly about their unusual triangle. They both had some interesting takes on the situation, but the one thing they can agree on is that this is super weird.
Is Tom in a parallel universe?
Tom and Katie called it quits back in March 2022. Now, less than two years later, they both have been kissing the same woman with the Pump Rules cameras rolling. When chatting with the outlet, Tom seemed to be in disbelief that he and Katie went after the same girl.
“How did it come to this? I’m convinced there was some sort of magnetic pull or shift and I’m in a parallel universe now,” Schwartz said. “For better or for worse, I don’t know yet.”
Regardless of what universe Tom is in right now, he clarified that he is currently single. He’s not necessarily looking to settle down with anybody, but he’s confident he’ll find love again in the future. Hopefully, with someone who hasn’t made out with his ex-wife.
“[I’m] looking forward to the future with an optimism, an eagerness I haven’t had in a long time. I’ve just been a basket case for way too long,” he shared.
Katie gives her side
Meanwhile, Katie is also enjoying the single life. She said she’s waiting for someone really “impressive” to come and knock her socks off. It sounds like Tori didn’t do that, but still, she said it was pretty confusing to find out that she and Tom were talking to the same girl.
“It was just a weird thing. Some people thought I was maybe gonna go after her just because of Tom,” Katie shared.
She continued, “I was like, ‘I don’t wake up in the morning and plan my day around what this man is doing,’ so I just had already decided what I decided, and I wasn’t gonna let that stop me.”
Katie said that she wanted to keep hanging out with Tori, regardless of Tom’s relationship with her. She figured it would be best to let Tori decide who she wanted. Since Tom and Katie have both admitted to being currently single, it sounds like ultimately, Tori didn’t want either of them.
So, we’ve heard Tom’s side. We’ve heard Katie’s side. Now, the only person we need to hear from is Tori. Surely she knew she was being messy, right?
