Over the years, Real Housewives confessional looks have become something of an art form. A confessional look can perfectly encapsulate a Housewife’s personality and signature style. Sometimes, these outfits are good, sometimes they’re bad, and other times, they leave us as stunned as an epically shady read.
One thing’s for sure, the looks have come a long way since the days of sky tops and bootcut jeans. As more and more ladies aim for high fashion, we’re looking at the wildest Real Housewives confessional looks of all time.
Jen Shah, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
If Jen Shah really wanted people to think the only thing she was guilty of was being Shah-mazing, then why did she dress like a cartoon villain character? Let’s not forget when she showed up to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion dressed like Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove. This particular confessional outfit also includes her favorite accessories—giant fake jewels, unnecessary gloves, and silly hats. All three of which are, for some reason, very trendy in Real Housewives confessional looks.
We could make a whole list just of Jen’s most ridiculous outfits, like this bedazzled velour turtleneck dress with shoulder pads, tinsel, and built-in gloves.
Mary Cosby, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
What were we just saying about silly hats and giant costume jewelry? Mary Cosby loves to insult her co-stars’ style choices. But considering how wacky—and not in a good way—her own outfits are, maybe she shouldn’t be so throw stones in glass houses.
Meredith Marks, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Of course, RHOSLC is home to many wild fashions. Just look at the costumes they wear during the dinners from hell, or Angie K’s devotion to those giant sunglasses, or any of the ridiculous outfits Meredith Marks puts on. Meredith might have Jen and Mary beat for the most bizarre confessional style…and that really says a lot.
Marlo Hampton, Real Housewives of Atlanta
On it’s own, this black cut-out top is actually pretty tame for Marlo Hampton. But if you didn’t even notice the top, we don’t blame you. This confessional look from Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 15 obviously made the list because of the door knocker hoop earrings. They almost distracted us from her incredible Marlo’s Fashion Review of the other ladies’ outfits, where she dubbed them a “bootleg girl group.”
Sheree Whitfield, Real Housewives of Atlanta
If this were an Elvira Halloween costume, we would praise this wild Shereé Whitfield RHOA confessional look. But it’s not, so instead…let’s just say we’re not surprised at her fashion line’s infamously bumpy road. Kudos to Sheree for being willing to poke fun at this fashion faux pas.
Karen Huger, Real Housewives of Potomac
The Grand Dame of Potomac is never subtle, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. This outfit, like many Karen Huger looks, perfectly reflects her over-the-top personality. This fairy godmother-esque gown is the best version of that cartoonish vibe that Jen Shah aims for. And Karen has certainly rocked some Disney villain inspired ensembles in her confessionals as well.
Gizelle Bryant, Real Housewives of Potomac
There’s a reason Real Housewives of Potomac fans still quote Karen’s unrelenting takedown of Gizelle Bryant‘s fashion sense (or lack thereof). On the one hand, we appreciate that Gizelle’s always taking risks. On the other hand, we agree with Candiace Dillard Bassett that someone should’ve stopped her.
Erika Jayne, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
A self-proclaimed showman, Erika Jayne‘s consistently OTT outfits definitely contributed to the wilder shift in Real Housewives confessional looks. We might have this ensemble, one of Erika’s most memorable looks ever, to thank (or blame) for the popularity of silly hats and gloves. It was straight off the runway from Moschino, back when Erika spent thousands of dollars on glam alone. Whether or not this look was worth the price tag…we’ll let you be the judge.
Dorit Kemsley, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Erika’s on-again/off-again frenemy Dorit Kemsley is also her rival in wildest Real Housewives of Beverly Hills confessional looks. Both ladies also love to flaunt their designer duds, though, to paraphrase another Real Housewife, even big-name designers make mistakes.
It’s hard for us to pick just one bizarre Dorit confessional look, but this bright yellow Versace top stands out for obvious reasons. And of course Dorit included a matching Versace scarf within one of her many elaborate updos. Plus the giant Versace label earrings. No one has ever accused her of being subtle!
Chanel Ayan, Real Housewives of Dubai
The Real Housewives of Dubai cast consistently rocked elaborate ballgowns in their confessional looks. Judging by this sneak peek from Chanel Ayan, they’ll only up the ante in the forthcoming Season 2.
Tiannah, Real Housewives of Lagos
Reddit called it, a new bar has been set for wildest Real Housewives confessional looks. Odds on Erika Jayne attempting to recreate this outfit next season?
