With the removal of one syllable, the entire context of Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s break up changed. Both parties alluded that the upcoming season of Summer House would shed some light on what happened between them. And the Season 8 trailer, released January 11, already paints a picture of a duo that are not communicating well and seem to be on different wave lengths.
But when “blindsided” became just “blind,” and Carl is seen arguing with Lindsay, it’s clear that there were legitimate issues. Who communicated or miscommunicated what remains the question.
As for the rest of the gang, they are back to their epic themed parties. But all that feels secondary to the answers Summer House fans are searching for to explain the demise of the former couple.
Summer House Season 8 trailer sees Carl predict: “I’ll be the bad guy”
The Summer House Season 8 trailer starts with the notorious conversation that Carl set up with producers to break up with Lindsay on camera in the former couple’s enviable NYC apartment.
She is seen walking away from the conversation after Carl said, “I’m not happy, and I don’t think you’re happy. You’re really gifted at playing victim.”
Cut to the Summer House star predicting how the narrative will play out. “She’s gonna spin this and then tell everybody she’s blindsided,” Carl says.
Lindsay then got her father on the phone to tell him the shocking news. “I feel very blindsided,” she told him.
“I’ll be the bad guy, that’s fine. But she’s blind to the things that have gone on the last year,” he said while being filmed in the kitchen.
That was the culmination after an entire summer together filming for Season 8. Prior to that sit-down, Carl is seen giving a confessional interview where he questions, “That’s the person I’m supposed to marry?”
Lindsay was in tears at one point and called her then-fiancé, “a f*cking terrorist.” In a separate conversation with Kyle Cooke, Carl said he would, “Burn this f*cking house down.”
Was all that drama as a result of Lindsay accusing Carl, “of doing drugs?” So many questions, and hopefully, some clarity once the season premieres in February.
Finally, a scene between the reality TV star and his stepfather during which he said, “I’ve been a minister my whole career. And I’ve married tons of people. I wouldn’t marry you and Lindsay.”
Catch the premiere of Summer House Season 8 on February 22.
