The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6, Episode 11, titled “Invite Only,” came hot off the heels of last week’s explosive Mother’s Day brunch. While things seemed to cool down, tension still lurked as Nicole was purposefully left off the guestlist for Marysol’s get-together. Meanwhile, Lisa still strongly felt her beef with Alexia, and Guerdy decided she’d had enough. All this and more on RHOM Season 6, Episode 11.
Marysol hires a medium and burns sage
Before the real fuses could be lit, fans were treated to a few moments of wholesomeness between the Housewives and their kids. Lisa gave her daughter Elle some blueberries, Larsa and Marcus picked up her daughter Sofia from the airport, and Frankie helped Alexia pack up her things (sort of).
Meanwhile, Marysol sat down with her husband, Steve, after doing some preparations for her upcoming party. That’s when Steve’s sons, Garrett and Hunter showed up, and Marysol got the chance to reflect on the motherhood experience between her and them. She felt she was more of a “big sister” to them, and was able to “keep it light.”
A medium then arrived, because of course. Marysol felt there were bad vibes all over the house, and as such, hired a man to tell her exactly what she wanted to hear. As they burned some sage in one of the house’s backrooms, Steve’s sons showed some skepticism on their faces. “It just smells,” one of them said.
Guerdy’s recovering while Nicole’s being framed
Meanwhile, two days after her surgery, Guerdy was still recovering with Russell as her loyal errand boy. Guerdy admitted she could “be a demanding bitch,” and encouraged Russell to “spank her.” Then, Nicole and Julia decided to pay their friend a visit, bringing orchids and smoothies.
Guerdy explained the soreness she was feeling even though the doctors said the surgery had gone well. Still, she had to wait for the pathology results, which, as Nicole explained, would determine whether Guerdy needed chemo, radiation, or anything else.
The conversation turned to the Mamacita lunch, and how frustrated Nicole was that Alexia and Marysol were blaming her for having invited Ana Quincoces to the festivities. Nicole, Guerdy, and especially Julia all knew that Adriana was truly to blame. That’s when a text came through to Guerdy – an invitation to Marysol’s party … but with Nicole excluded from the group chat.
Nicole said, “I don’t need a group of friends like this … I don’t want friends that think such sh*tty things about me,” though, she was visibly hurt as she began tearing up. “These girls never think the best of me.” Julia said she’d persuade Adriana to apologize, but Nicole figured everyone would remain set in their ways.
As such, Nicole vowed to remove herself from all future get-togethers until she received an apology.
Logan Hochstein’s new bank account
The theme of child-rearing continued as, on a rainy day, Lisa took her son Logan to the bank so he could set up an account. Lisa said she wanted her children to “understand the value of a dollar,” especially as she was about to downsize her living space.
Lisa described to Logan and the camera in a confessional how hard she worked from the time she was 13 years old. She told of her time at Dairy Queen, as a babysitter, at Aldo Shoes, Footlocker, as a go-go dancer, and as a Hooters employee. In a display of good parenting, Lisa told Logan she didn’t want wealth to go to his head.
As she reflected on her past work experiences, Lisa expressed some pretty surprising self-awareness. She explained how she’d gotten comfortable with Lenny and lost her good work ethic. She told Logan that he wanted him to be proud of her, and wanted to provide a good life for him.
Larsa and Marcus reflect on privilege
From there, Larsa and her daughter Sofia caught up with each other over dinner. While Larsa found it hard to have Sofia living in L.A., she knew that Miami was her home. She was simply happy to make it work with her daughter.
As Marcus stepped away for a moment, Larsa asked Sofia if she was comfortable with having him around. He is, after all, the son of Sofia’s father’s biggest rival. Sofia hesitated, so Larsa showed some empathy and said how she figured it wasn’t easy to be around a man who wasn’t her dad. Sofia nodded. However, when asked if she had to pick someone, Sofia said, “It would be him.”
Marcus showed how well he got along with Sofia – sometimes more than Larsa would’ve liked. Marcus conceded that he and Sofia would gang up on Larsa sometimes. Larsa said she felt her kids weren’t spoiled. Marcus, on the other hand, with more of a level head, explained that both he and Larsa’s children were “privileged.”
Larsa didn’t think so, but a producer jumped in and said, “They fly private, Larsa.” Marcus added that he didn’t even know what a commercial flight was until he was 16. Well, at least he could acknowledge his privilege.
Alexia’s house hunting (without Todd)
Speaking of privilege, Alexia’s time came to house hunt. Before criticizing Alexia too hard, I will say, it’s ridiculous that Todd put all the pressure on Alexia to find them a new place. As she pointed out, Todd’s the one with the real estate license. Moreover, Alexia was extremely conscious of Frankie, his safety, and his routines.
Still, it wasn’t all level-headed thinking for Alexia. She griped more than once about the size of the place, particularly the walk-in closet. But as it turned out, the price to rent the place would be even more than the rate at which they rented their previous place.
But as Alexia’s realtor explained, there were hardly any units to show. Places were being scooped up left and right. Alexia realized she sounded like an “asshole,” but she’d become used to a certain way of living, and for her, the gorgeous beach house just wasn’t it.
Julia’s awkward arrival to Marysol’s party
Soon enough, it was time for Marysol’s Gifting Party to officially begin. She was happy to share everything she loved with her friends. Free jewelry, clothing, skin-care products, and flowers for everyone. “It’s a Marysol party,” she said.
Julia arrived at the party just after Alexia and Kiki, and she was notably nervous. She had one mission – to defend Nicole. But that ambition made her anxious. When she walked in, the girls noted her discomfort. “It’s us, Julia,” Kiki said, wondering just what was going on with her.
That’s when the conversation moved to Miami Swim Week, which both Kiki and Julia would be modeling for. Julia revealed it to be her first show in 20-plus years, and that gave her mixed feelings. Kiki was glad to give the girls an event at which to support her since she was too often the supporter herself.
Why Nicole wasn’t invited to Marysol’s party
Kiki soon asked who else was coming, specifically asking if Nicole would be there. Marysol admitted she needed some space from Nicole after what happened at the Mother’s Day party. When the topic shifted to Nicole, Julia jumped in to try and play defense, but Alexia and Marysol weren’t having it.
“Nicole … says she has the highest IQ,” Alexia pointed out. “You know who Ana is, and you know why you brought her hear.” Julia kept trying to explain what truly happened, but she might as well have been talking to a wall. Adriana and Guerdy soon arrived and broke up the tension.
Everyone was glad to see Guerdy just four days after her surgery. Guerdy was all too happy to be there, engaging in “retail therapy.” Adriana told the cameras that Marysol was doing what she did best, “Using her PR contacts to buy friends. It’s working.”
Adriana confesses … but no one cares
When the girls sat down to eat, they had to discuss Mother’s Day. Everyone began arguing about who was to blame for Ana’s presence. Julia said, “Nicole is getting a f*cking beating for something that she does not deserve.” From there, Julia tried to get Adriana to fess up, and, in Portuguese, Adriana tried to tell her to drop it. “Don’t start,” she said. “Stop that now.”
Adriana felt as though the Thelma and Louise dynamic between her and Julia was suddenly soured as Julia was attempting to jump out of the car before it went off the cliff. Kiki hoped Nicole was on a private yacht or plane enjoying her time away from “the sh*t show.”
With persuasion from Julia, Adriana agreed to confess. “I invited Ana with Nicole’s blessing,” she said. Adriana explained that she was hoping to expose Alexia’s hypocrisy with Lisa. Alexia suggested Lisa drive anyone’s car but Lenny’s, meanwhile, Alexia was driving Todd’s car. But as Alexia pointed out, that was not the same situation in the slightest.
As Julia still tried to defend Nicole, Alexia, and Marysol wouldn’t have it. In their confessionals, Alexia and Marysol essentially said they were fed up with Adriana being Adriana and needed to redirect their anger elsewhere. Thus, Nicole was receiving so much heat despite Adriana’s confession. Adriana could live with that.
Lisa arrives two hours late to start sh*t
That’s when Lisa entered the party (two hours late). She still felt burned after Palm Beach, despite her friends just trying to look out for her. Lisa’s biggest weakness this season has been her inability to take criticism. But she wasn’t about to back down now. As she entered Marysol’s party, she went straight for Alexia.
Guerdy approached Lisa, just to say hey, but despite Lisa’s brief moment of concern, once Guerdy said she was fine, Lisa went straight back for Alexia. Lisa claimed Alexia was talking “sh*t”, and Alexia responded, “Saying the truth is not talking sh*t.”
Alexia said they could no longer throw Lisa “a pity party,” and Lisa said Alexia always talked over people (with no self-awareness). As Lisa and Alexia began arguing, Guerdy, Kiki, and Julia gave us perhaps some of the best reaction shots in Housewives’ history. Guerdy in particular looked extremely detached.
“I’m in another galaxy,” Guerdy admitted to the camera. She stood up to go and tried to say bye to her friends, but neither Lisa nor Alexia noticed. Once she had their attention, Guerdy admitted she’d be having a second surgery on Tuesday. Her friends followed her as she walked out the door.
Guerdy’s second surgery and how her friends can help
The news of a second surgery was unexpected, even for Guerdy. Considering the doctors told her the first surgery had gone so well, she was not ready to accept the reality of another appointment. She’d been told in the Uber on the way to the party. She tried to bottle it up, but with all the drama, she couldn’t any longer.
“I’m just tired of the bullsh*t,” she said as she was leaving. Her friends asked what they could do for her, and Guerdy pleaded with them to remember that they were friends, and they weren’t out to hurt each other intentionally. “Do me a favor,” she said, “You wanna help me? Make it f*cking right.”
Alexia attributed Guerdy’s attitude to her medical situation, but in all honesty, Guerdy was just being as real as can be. Alexia and Marysol need to quit the pettiness. Still, Alexia said she would “expect to have a conversation with Nicole and for her to own it.” Oh boy. As Guerdy sobbed her way into a car, Julia wanted to take personal responsibility to fix everything.
