Vanderpump Villa Season 1 Teaser Trailer Promises Spicy Drama

Riding on the coattails of 2023’s Scandoval, restauranteur Lisa Vanderpump is teaming up with Hulu on a new show. Vanderpump Villa will focus on the staff at another of her restaurants, this time with an international flair.

A press release describes the show as: “Decadence and debauchery collide in … a new unscripted docu-drama following Lisa Vanderpump’s hand-selected staff as they work, live, and play at an exclusive French estate, Chateau Rosabelle.”

Vanderpump Villa echos VPR’s early days, before the staff aged out of their jobs at SUR and settled down to raise babies in cozy Valley Village bungalows.

LVP warns in the Vanderpump Villa trailer: “This is not Chateau Sh*t Show”

Having milked all the drama possible out of the aging Vanderpump Rules cast, the new show focuses on young people struggling to live on their meager paychecks. Or are they? Google tells me that serving staff in France receive a full wage with paid holidays and health care. They don’t rely on tips as part of their living wage.

From the teaser, it looks like the staff will be living on-site since they’re out in the French countryside. So is it more of a Vanderpump/Below Deck hybrid?

Before filming began, production published a casting call for restaurant professionals who wanted a part in the show. So in other words, wannabe actors who can carry a cocktail without spilling and provide eye candy for the viewers.

Positions included head chef, mixologist, sous chef, housekeeper, fine dining server, event coordinator, event assistant, and estate manager. Producers clarified from the start that the hospitality crew is expected to “navigate every extravagant desire of their well-to-do guests.” In addition, all applicants should have “television-ready charisma.”

From the teaser, it seems Lisa is a big part of the 10-episode series. She will be there to guide and chastise the staff should they step out of line. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is also an executive producer of the show.

All we need now is a catchy theme song and we can raise our glasses high to Vanderpump Villa.

Vanderpump Villa is set to premiere in the Spring of 2024 on Hulu.
