Throughout her time on Sister Wives, Christine Brown began to blossom from a meek housewife to an outspoken modern-day woman, much to the chagrin of Kody Brown. At one point in time, Kody was the master of the house, making every decision and passing judgment on everyone. But somewhere along the line, the tables turned, and Christine found her power, finally telling off her ex-husband. Now wallowing after his divorce, let’s take a look back at all the times Kody was put in his place.
Christine Talks About Their Lack of Intimacy
One way to shut a man up is to talk about their sexual prowess. Christine did just that as she put Kody in the corner when she revealed that before their divorce, they would only have sex a handful of times per year. Christine didn’t hold back as she spoke with Heather McDonald on her podcast, Juicy Scoop. “It was, like, five times in one year,” Christine revealed. “There’s sex, and then there’s intimacy. What we didn’t have was intimacy. The intimacy itself had been gone for years.”
Christine Moves Kody Out
After Kody told her on the series that they would no longer have an intimate relationship, Christine took matters into her own hands and physically boxed up all of Kody’s stuff that was cluttering her Arizona home and placed them in the garage. There is perhaps no bigger F-you than to move your estranged husband out of his own space. Kody claimed in a confessional that he was being “hassled” to move. However, cameras caught the mother of six becoming fed up.
Christine revealed, “If I had not boxed Kody’s stuff up in my bedroom and moved it to the garage, he would have never gotten to it.” While Kody cried about not having a space of his own, Christine, unphased, kept pushing his boxes to the curb.
Christine and Kody Didn’t Split Assets
What may be even more exciting is the fact that Kody never had any legal claim to Christine’s money. Since the duo were only spiritually married, there were never any legally binding documents. Christine did her homework as she prepared to split from the father of 18, noting in her confessional during Season 17, “If I am going to sell my house, I won’t be giving him any of the money.”
Kody tried his best to gaslight his third bride into believing that the funds from the sale of her home needed to be put back into Coyote Pass. But Christine wasn’t interested in sharing; she wouldn’t put another penny into Kody’s dumb land ownership idea.
Christine then shared that only her name was on the house deed, and she was the only one who made every single mortgage payment. I could actually hear Kody about to blow a gasket. Kody fully believed that he deserved money from the sale because, according to him, he and Robyn Brown gave money to Christine for the down payment. Bottom line, there was no way Christine was allowing him to bully her, and she walked away with it all.
Shut it, Kody
During a family sit down, Kody became upset when his four wives, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine, and Robyn, all wanted to air their grievances to him. What they wanted was a sympathetic ear, so when Kody piped up, Christine snapped, “Kody shut it! It’s not your turn to make noises.” As Kody whined that it was never about him, Christine ended his fussing by scolding the man-child, saying, “Kody, stop. Sometimes, it is about you, so stop it. You know what, ya, you’re not Mr. Perfect.”
If that doesn’t sum up Kody in one sentence, I don’t know what would. Christine always had some fire within her, so when she chose to use her power, she chose to use it for good—which was shutting down Kody. Perhaps the biggest time Kody will be put in his place is every time he has to read or see Christine moving on and being happy without him. Godspeed, Christine.
