For those unfamiliar with the drama surrounding Chris Bassett and his alleged mistress, buckle up, this one’s a doozy. In October earlier this year, claims surfaced that Candiace Dillard Bassett’s husband had a months-long affair with another woman by the name of Ayanna Williams.
Tasha K reported on the situation initially, alleging that Ayanna had in her possession nude photos of a man who appeared to be Real Housewives of Potomac’s Chris. Moreover, Ayanna sent abortion paperwork with Chris’ signature and claimed she’d had an abortion weeks prior.
As these claims continued developing, fans discovered that Chris had an apparent past with Ayanna. He followed her on Instagram and liked her posts. Now, the narrative has taken an unexpected turn, and that turn may just include the involvement of none other than Gizelle Bryant.
Gizelle: The mastermind in Chris’ cheating scandal?
On the weekend of November 25, Ayanna shared an Instagram Stories post that simply read: “I LIED. I NEVER MET CHRIS BASSETT.” She added: “I NEVER TALKED TO HIM. I MADE THE WHOLE THING UP. IM [sic] SORRY THAT MY ACTIONS HURT PEOPLE.” Ayanna’s confession came as a shock to many.
The confession must’ve especially shocked Candiace’s fellow RHOP stars, like Gizelle for example. Gizelle was a strong proponent of the theory that Chris cheated on Candiace. However, as soon as Ayanna confirmed her allegations were false, Candiace suggested that Gizelle had something to do with the whole scheme.
When reached out to via DM and asked directly if Gizelle was involved with the allegations against Chris, Ayanna responded, “She did put me up to it. That’s all I can say for now.” As it stands, Gizelle’s involvement is purely alleged, even if Ayanna claims Gizelle had a role in all this.
