Gizelle Bryant and Candiace Dillard Bassett were coming at each other hard ahead of the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 premiere.
“If you would just shut the fu*k up and worry about your boyfriends for hire and cheating husbands, you wouldn’t have to post “proof“ that you weren’t behind yet another plot against someone’s family,” Candiace wrote on Twitter after a clip from Reasonably Shady — Gizelle and Robyn Dixon’s podcast made its rounds on social media.
“Once again, the people of God are tired.”
Where did it all go wrong?
Season 7 is where Candiace and Gizelle’s relationship began to crumble. After Gizelle told her co-stars that Candiace’s husband, Chris Bassett, made her uncomfortable in her hotel room during an RHOP reunion taping, the “Drive Back” singer cut all ties with the Potomac OG. Their issues worsened on the Peacock spinoff, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Thailand.
Now, as the latest batch of RHOP episodes begins to roll out, fans who hoped for a reconciliation between the two may want to try their luck with another feuding pair.
RHOP Season 8: Gizelle vs. Candiace Round 2
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gizelle addressed Candiace’s latest social media tirade.
“I don’t even know what the hell’s going on in Candiace’s home, nor do I care, OK?” she said. “I don’t care what she says on Twitter at all, and clearly she should be concerned about what’s going on in her bedroom, ’cause unfortunately, we’ve all seen what she sleeps with … unfortunately.”
“My DMs was DM-ing, OK?”
Since Gizelle’s accusations in Season 7, Candiace and Chris have denied their former friend’s claims, while some suggested she brought it up to take the heat off of her pal, Robyn.
Karen Huger brought up allegations of Juan Dixon cheating on Robyn with a blonde bombshell in Georgetown during the latter half of last season. Initially, Robyn and Juan denied the claims but later admitted they were accurate on a subscription-based podcast after the season ended.
Social media exploded, and Robyn later explained her reasoning on Watch What Happens Live.
“It was so in the back of my mind. We dealt with it; we moved on from it. I don’t know why I would say, ‘Hey guys, pick me, let’s talk about my issues,’ ” she argued. “It wasn’t an issue at that moment when we were filming. … It wasn’t relevant to where we were in that present time.”
At BravoCon 2023, the ladies discussed last season’s events, Robyn’s shocking revelation afterward, and how it impacted the dynamics of Season 8.
“She does address [the cheating scandal] — in her way — you just have to speak her language,” Karen said with a hint of shade.
