The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne filed for divorce in 2020 from once-esteemed attorney Tom Girardi. This came after he was exposed for allegedly stealing millions of dollars from clients who lost family members in a tragic plane crash.
The legal proceedings for both Tom and Erika have been endless. Tom’s also reportedly suffering from dementia. The two are technically still married. “How many f*cks” does Erika give that she isn’t divorced yet? Apparently, “none. Not one. Zero, zero, zero.”
Erika Jayne divorce: At the bottom of her list of problems
Entertainment Tonight interviewed Erika since the RHOBH Season 13 premiere is almost upon us. Erika has always maintained that she knew nothing about Tom’s alleged crimes. But, she’s been roped into the legal mess and has spent a lot of time in court. When asked about her now years-long divorce from Tom, she shared that she doesn’t even think about it and is focused on picking up the pieces of her own life.
“In the order of all of the problems I’m facing, it’s probably the absolute last thing. I just don’t think about it. The day I filed for divorce and we were legally separated, that was it for me. We are in very different places. I have a lot to clean up and pick up and move on.”
Erika continued: “We all have to do it our own way. Nobody’s gonna look out for you but yourself. Even after a two decade-plus marriage, that’s what it came down to, looking out for yourself.”
Her heart is “open” and she’s ready for a new relationship
Erika has a lot going on right now between her Bet It All on Blonde residency in Las Vegas and the return of RHOBH. She’s grieved her marriage and old life and has been dating. She says she’s ready to make time for love. However, she plans to keep that private.
“You have to grieve a marriage and you grieve a lot of things. I had a complete change of life, not just a marriage, a sickness of a spouse, and then losing your home, and your money, and all at one time, so grieving that sort of stuff and working through the legal problems is a lot.”
“My heart will always be open. I don’t think I’ll choose to share my private life on camera,” she said. Erika added, “I think that I need one thing that’s mine. I just need one thing that’s mine.”
We’ll get to see what IS on Erika’s mind during the upcoming season of RHOBH. Could it still be those gigantic, infamous earrings?
