The rebooted Real Housewives of New York exceeded fan’s expectations. It took a minute to warm up to the new cast. There is no doubt that Jenna Lyons was the breakout fan favorite.
She was witty, vulnerable, successful, stylish, and sometimes awkward. Her confessionals were hilarious.
But now RHONY fans are wondering if Jenna is going to be a one-and-done housewife. I’m crossing my fingers that Jenna will return. And so is Andy Cohen.
Andy is hopeful that Jenna will return
Andy discussed Jenna’s possible future plans on his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy. He was asked if he thought Jenna would be back on RHONY. “I hope so,” Andy replied.
“You know, I think her girlfriend is a little camera-shy, so that’s a challenge, but I do really hope that she does [return],” Andy said. I think most viewers hope so, too.
Jenna is dating photographer Cass Bird. Cass gave Jenna a diamond ring, but Jenna denied that the duo are engaged. I think.
Did she hint that she was leaving?
Jenna previously hinted about exiting the series when she posed next to a piece of artwork that read “quit.” But during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, fans felt that the Bravo newbie hinted that she was done with RHONY.
Andy asked Jenna what her “thorn” of the season was. “I mean, the whole show,” she responded matter-of-factly. Andy looked shocked.
Fans discussed her comments on @Bravosnarkside’s Instagram post. “I love Jenna! She’s my favorite but I think she’s too good for this show!” one fan wrote.
“I don’t blame her. I wouldn’t come back to the show either,” a follower posted.
Another user wrote, “When I saw that she wasn’t going to be at Bravocon, while the rest of the cast is…that was my first clue. I think she might be a one and done.”
A fourth follower wrote, “She said it herself [in the finale] using other words. She felt like she never clicked or wanted to be vulnerable with these women. I don’t blame her. She’s a very public figure and after seeing Jessel [Taank] and all the gross assumptions they made about her marriage, Jenna probably disengaged. She has a lot at stake,” the fan added.
“I mean…bye? You can wear your jeans on another show then,” a viewer said.
Well, there are certainly lots of opinions about Jenna. I thought that she was refreshing on RHONY, and I am hoping she will be back.
The Real Housewives of New York City reunion begins on Sunday, October 22 at 9/8c on Bravo.
