On October 7, Christine Brown tied the knot with David Woolley after a whirlwind romance that left her feeling like a schoolgirl. The couple first met back in December 2020 and made their relationship Instagram official on Valentine’s Day. David and Christine have made sure to poke fun at Kody Brown every step of the way, even posting family photos and mockingly eating nachos, which Kody despises.
While most of the Brown family and Sister Wives fans supported the union, Gwen Brown, Christine and Kody Brown’s daughter, was noticeably absent from the family photos. So why wasn’t Gwen at Christine’s wedding?
Gwen Was a No Show
During a recent Patreon Q&A, via withoutacrystalball, Mykelti Brown confirmed that Gwen was a no-show at the nuptials. Mykelti gave an odd answer when asked the reason by a fan, stating, “I honestly don’t know. I don’t know. Gwendlyn didn’t tell me why she wasn’t there. When she didn’t show up, it was kind of a shock to me. I didn’t know that she wasn’t going to be there. That’s a her question.”
Mykelti went on to say, “I think it’s tragic and sad for my mom. I don’t know the reasons why. There could have been an emergency. There could have been nothing, who knows? I don’t. But it is sad.”
Firstly, don’t you think if Gwen were in an emergency, Christine would have postponed her wedding to be by her daughter’s side? The remark came across as a straight-up lie, hinting that Mykelti knew more.
Is Gwen Jealous of Her Mom?
Sister Wives followers hypothesized that Gwen might be jealous of her mother’s love story, but Mykelti again shot that thought down. It turns out, Gwen wanted nothing to do with the TLC cameras when it came to her own wedding to Beatriz Queiroz in July.
According to Mykelti, “Gwendlyn didn’t want her wedding on the show or publicized in any way like that. I think that the only reason why they wanted to film Gwendlyn’s engagement party was because David and my dad would meet, so I think that was rude of them because that should have been more about Gwendlyn. But I don’t think that she’s upset that mom got more attention because Gwendlyn didn’t want that.”
Kody and Christine Are the Same
In one of Gwen’s recent Patreon videos, the newlywed hinted that her mom and dad are cut from the same cloth. It can be argued that while Kody has really messed things up, so has Christine, yet Christine is revered while Kody is hated. When asked to specify what stuff Christine had done, Gwen revealed she couldn’t say, but maybe one day, when the show ends, she would be free to speak her truth. It was surprising to hear Gwen share her frustration about her mom since the new episodes still show the mother and daughter hanging out.
Gwen clearly harbors ill feelings about how TLC and her parents have cashed in on her life. Gwen has also recently stated that she is not pleased Kody or Christine hasn’t paid her as an adult for her work on the show. During Gwen’s video, she also divulged that she feels her mother has been playing it up for the cameras and over-dramatizing her split from Kody.
Was Paedon To Blame?
Sister Wives viewers are well aware there is no lost love between Paedon Brown and Gwen. When the siblings were younger, Paedon slapped Gwen across the face. During a TikTok video, Paedon tried to set the record straight, sharing that the incident occurred after a heated exchange, but the fight did lead to a physical altercation. At the time, Paedon revealed that Gwen was now scared to be around him, which makes sense to us!
Gwen shared with viewers that Christine favors Paedon because he is the only son. As fans learned, boys in a polygamous household often get different treatment. Gwen noted that she didn’t feel Christine did enough to stop Paedon’s outburst. However, both Gwen and Paedon attended Logan Brown‘s wedding in October, so why couldn’t she have made an exception for her own mother’s wedding?
Gwen Reveals All
It seems Gwen has been privy to all the gossip about her being MIA, so she took it upon herself to set the record straight. Gwen claims she was just “too busy” to drive the five hours to Utah even though her siblings, Savanah, Gabriel, and Garrison, who all attend Northern Arizona University together, still made the journey.
According to Gwen’s Ask Me Anything segment on her Patreon, attending the wedding also wasn’t feasible due to the pressures from her new mobile home and an organic chemistry course.
