As one of the newer Real Housewives of New York City, Erin Lichy and her husband, Abe Lichy, are under the microscope. The couple has thus far portrayed a united front, as both seem interactive in their daily lives. Bravo viewers are still out on whether or not they like Erin as a housewife, but Abe has shot up a few red flags, leaving fans to wonder if the Real Housewives curse will strike the couple down.
Abe is a born and bred New Yorker with a DJ and fashion background. To say that Abe is booming would be downplaying his achievements, as he owns his law firm, Lichy Law, and is also a partner as Chair of the Intellectual Property Practice Group at McLaughlin & Stern LLP. The couple have been married for 11 years, and while everything looks perfect from the outside, some suspect that Abe may be a secret playboy at heart.
Abe Would Cheat
In the most recent episode of the Real Housewives of New York City, Abe gave an ill-conceived answer when asked what he would do if he found himself in a sexless marriage for over a year. During a dinner with Sai De Silva and her husband, the two couples discussed Jessel Taank‘s lack of a sex life. Sai’s husband, David Craig, asked, “If your wife did not have sex with you for a year and a half, what would happen?” In less than a second, Abe responded, “I’d f**k other women.”
Erin seemed mortified by the answer even though she giggled, noting, “I don’t appreciate his candor right now. He’s such a little s**t.” Fans could tell a lightbulb went off within Erin as she realized the moment she has an off day, her husband could be wandering the streets for a new sex partner. The entire conversation is a major red flag, showing how easily Abe could get under someone new.
Abe Flirts With Brynn
Even though Brynn Whitfield got most of the pushback after her scene with Abe, the husband should have also been to blame. During their vow renewals, Abe effortlessly took part in a chat with Brynn and even made some quips. Brynn started the conversation by saying, “Now, once you’re ready to get a divorce, I’m single. We’re gonna do a swap, right?” Abe smiled, replying, “Wife-swapping happens, I think happens, after the 20-year anniversary.” This participation is the second red flag since, in all reality, the lawyer should have never entertained the conversation.
Brynn dragged the topic on, saying, “So, wait, if you didn’t say vows, then technically you’re not married?” Again, Abe tilted his back and laughed, replying, “No, there’s a whole contract. I made a whole list of obligations.” The fundamental shady part was that Abe rushed back to Erin the same night to explain how uncomfortable he was with Brynn’s antics, yet he looked cool as a cucumber when cameras caught him chatting the socialite up. Abe the babe strikes again.
It turns out Erin and Abe may have an agreement that it is okay to flirt. Erin once told Page Six that it’s “OK to have silly banter. We feel very secure; he’s my best friend, we love each other deeply, but we’re also very very close, so anything that goes on, we’re talking about it, it’s not like a private thing.” Yet it wasn’t okay to flirt with Brynn? It truly feels like Abe enjoys constant attention from women, and this trait could become a major problem.
The Potty Training Incident
During an earlier episode of the Real Housewives of New York City, Abe and Erin chatted in their apartment when their youngest son had an accident. Fans felt like both Abe and Erin were shaming their son as they laughed and asked if he was a “pet.” During some episodes, it has seemed that Abe doesn’t want to deal with the mundane ins and outs of being a parent.
Abe is playing a major role in the newest season of the franchise, which could be great or start showing off his imperfections. As the season continues, fans will have to wait and see if they spot more red flags.
