Real Housewives Who Have Been Blacklisted by Bravo

The Real Housewives franchise is a Bravo staple. But the network has not hesitated to cut ties with several of its former stars. Prior Real Housewives have been blacklisted by Bravo for a number of reasons. Several were condemned for controversial actions they chose to partake in. On the other hand, Bravo also cut ties with stars they deemed not to be good fits for their network. Even if they didn’t do anything specifically wrong.

The following four women were once featured on various Real Housewives spin-offs but were later let go of by Bravo. While the network had valid reasons for releasing former cast members, they didn’t make the right call with all of them.

Lisa Rinna

Lisa Rinna was featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for eight seasons. She revealed at the beginning of the year that she will not be returning to the show. There were several personal factors behind Lisa’s decision. This includes the recent passing of her mother and the impact of publicity on her family. While Lisa seemed to leave on decent terms, a recent decision by the former Housewife caused Bravo to blacklist her.

Lisa recently called for fellow Bravo stars to boycott the upcoming BravoCon, the network’s annual fan convention in Las Vegas. Lisa’s main agenda for encouraging the BravoCon boycott was to support Bethenny Frankel‘s recent strike for fair wages. She openly posted on social media and asked followers to boycott the event. To the surprise of no one, it infuriated Bravo.

Nene Leakes

Nene Leakes starred on The Real Housewives of Atlanta for a whopping ten seasons. It was a shock to viewers when she announced that she would be leaving prior to filming Season 13. When Nene first left the network in 2020, she suggested contract issues were the reason behind her departure. However, she later changed her story.

NeNe claimed she had complained about racist comments from fellow cast member Kim Zolciak-Biermann to the network. Allegedly, they never addressed the issue. Nene later filed a lawsuit against production. She claims both racism and a hostile work environment. Bravo was less than pleased with Nene’s actions. Now it’s unlikely that she will ever be invited to return to the network.

Jennie Nguyen

Jennie Nguyen‘s time on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City may have been short. But unfortunately Bravo will always remember her for other reasons. Jennie had only appeared on Season 2, although she had already begun filming Season 3 prior to being removed by the network.

In the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, Jennie made some offensive posts on social media, that ultimately caused Bravo to fire her. At the time, Jennie indicated that she felt Black Lives Matter protesters were comparable to gangs, and even called for a White Lives Matter movement. Jennie also went on to question the manner in which George Floyd really died, which many found to be incredibly insensitive.

Bravo immediately cut ties with Jennie after the posts resurfaced, and made it clear that they did not support her actions in the slightest. It was refreshing to see Bravo maintain such a no nonsense attitude on such an important issue, and immediately take action to blacklist Jennie.

Teddi Mellencamp

Teddi Mellencamp was featured on several seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, although she was later let go for confusing reasons. Unlike the other Blacklisted Housewives who clearly did something to aggravate Bravo, Teddi did not do anything at all. Instead, Bravo simply decided that Teddi did not bring enough to the show, and deemed that she was no longer a valuable asset to them.

To make things even worse, Teddi hinted at the fact that she was blindsided by her firing, since there was no apparent reason. Bravo allegedly told Teddi the news via phone call, which does not make things better either. While Bravo had legitimate reasons for blacklisting other former franchise stars in the past, they did not do right by Teddi.
