Mia Thornton’s social media admissions caused quite a stir on the latest season of Real Housewives of Potomac. Both on and off screen. And no one seemed happier to question it than castmate Gizelle Bryant.
After Gizelle confronted Mia about her business drama at the RHOP reunion, the Chiropractic Queen kept her cool. But now Mia is sounding off about what she really thinks of Gizelle’s comments.
Page Six is reporting the details after Mia appeared on the publication’s podcast Virtual Reali-Tea. “Do I feel like it was foul for her to bring that up on this platform? Sure,” Mia admitted.
Both Mia and her husband Gordon Thorton run a chain of chiropractic clinics, but in October 2022, they ran into some trouble. Mia alleged on her Instagram that Gordon’s siblings “revoked his access to the company bank account” while the two were “out of the country.”
She also told her 300k+ followers, “I’ve since learned that my salary will no longer continue past this next payroll cycle due to my unwavering loyalty to Gordon.” Mia further claimed that Gordon had “trusted” his brothers “to support and carry on the family legacy.” The post has since been deleted.
Gizelle brought this up on the RHOP reunion stage, questioning Mia’s story. Said Gizelle, “It looked very much like a little bit of embezzlement. Kind of? Like there was money that you guys were taking from the company.” The veteran housewife added, “And that was paying for the house, that was paying for the renovation. And then you were cut off from that bank account. So it looked a little bit embezzling.”
Mia tried to shut down the accusation, replying, “Why would I go public if we were stealing money? Like, come on now. I would probably keep that quiet.”
As the segment continued, Mia told host Andy Cohen that she allegedly is still not receiving a salary from the company in which she is a board member. She also revealed that she is living off of their savings and downsized their Maryland mansion to a penthouse.
Despite all this, Mia maintained on the pod that she has her “s—t in order, so there’s no worries” when it comes to money.
She’s also unbothered by how Gizelle’s words will impact their friendship. “It’s a huge allegation and it’s not something that we want to play with. But do I feel betrayed? No. Because I’m a realist. I want you to say exactly what you’re thinking to me. Just don’t say it behind my back, right?” Mia explained.
The second-year housewife concluded, “I value and appreciate women are who strong enough to just come out their mouth and say it directly to my face. I can deal with that any day,” she added.
