Bravo’s the Real Housewives of New Jersey has pulled viewers in for a solid 13 years straight. Although Margaret Josephs pushing Marty Caffrey in the pool excites me, the never ending feud between Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice keeps me tuned in. After several years of ups and downs on the show, Teresa and Melissa have always been able to put their differences aside for family’s sake.
When Teresa and Joe Giudice received 15 and 41 months in federal prison for fraud charges, viewers saw the two families unite to support Tre, Joe, and their four daughters.
On Mel’s podcast, Melissa Gorga On Display, Melissa and Joe spoke about their frustrations regarding the lack of gratitude from their sister and nieces. “How about ‘Thank you?’ Because when she was in prison, Joe wasn’t working at all either. So they had no income. If we weren’t on the show, their kids would not still be living in that house and have food and have whatever they had,” Joe stated.
Although Joe Gorga believes he’s owed praise, others may feel differently.
On a recent episode of RHONJ, Gia Giudice and Gabriella Giudice spoke with Teresa and her husband, Luis Ruelas, about Melissa and Joe’s comments regarding their family. From Gia’s POV, Joe Giudice’s family had her, and her sibling’s backs, the most. But apparently, she can’t say the same for Mel and Joe.
“The only times we really saw them was when we were on camera together,” Gia said in a confessional, per Page Six. “I really can’t remember any other time when I saw them.”
When Andy Cohen asked Melissa how she felt about her niece’s comments on Watch What Happens Live, Melissa slammed her family members for being “selfish.”
“I think it’s super selfish when any mother brings a child into a conversation like this. I’m sorry. It’s a selfish thing to have them comment on it. [Gabriella]’s my godchild,” she said, according to RealityBlurb! And after watching Gia and Gabriella claim the Gorgas were only around while filming, Melissa added, “That hurts to even hear.”
Fans hoping to see the two families get to a better place may have to wait a little longer–or forever, even. During BravoCon 2022, Gia and Joe revealed the two were ignoring each other at the event. “It’s definitely uncomfortable,” Gia said.
