It’s about time for Tom Girardi to face the music. Or in this case, face the judge. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne’s seemingly unwell not-yet-ex husband is bound to see further consequences for his decades of scamming people out of their money.
Erika’s only storyline that she won’t can’t talk about has been looming over everyone’s head since news broke of Tom’s dastardly deeds back in November 2020. Erika filed for divorce, shocking everyone because snitches get stitches we all thought they were MADLY in love. A literal avalanche of legal problems buried the couple.
Widows, orphans, and burn victims who had been victims of Tom’s ALLEGED unlawful dealings came into the public eye. We watched Erika pretend to be unbothered in her new 2000 square foot apartment. Tom fell under the conservatorship of his brother, claiming Alzheimer’s disease had compromised this once highly acclaimed attorney. As Tom was moved into a managed care environment, the legal issues remain. To say the situation isn’t improving would be a gross understatement.
Tom, who was just indicted, was present on February 6, 2023 for his initial court appearance in Los Angeles federal court. The judge issued an order that he is to undergo a mental competency examination. Page Six has the details.
Normally, initial court appearances include a bond hearing and the defendant’s arraignment. During the 15-minute hearing, United States Magistrate Judge Karen L. Stevenson entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of Tom. In March 2021, he was identified as having Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Judge Stevenson also placed Tom’s bond at $250,000 with the understanding that his brother, Robert Girardi, will be in charge of him. All records pertaining to Tom’s mental health will be sealed. While Tom resides in an Orange County senior living facility, he will be exempt from wearing an electronic monitor. But the judge said he isn’t allowed to leave California. Additionally Tom must surrender his passport and any other documents required to travel.
It should go without saying, but Tom is barred from any contact with witnesses or any alleged victims associated with his legal case(s). Tom’s brother, Robert, was present and acknowledged understanding the directive and agreed to sign the bond contract. Sources shared Tom looked extremely frail and remained silent during the hearing. Judge Stevenson also stated that she read Tom’s financial affidavit and determined he qualified to be represented by a public defender.
The judge agreed to Federal Prosecutor Scott Paetty’s request that the court be informed if any assets from Tom’s estate, you know, like EARRINGS, are transferred with a value of $5,000 or more. Judge Stevenson ordered both sides to meet and arrange an appearance in front of US District Judge Josephine L. Stanton.
Tom was charged last week by a grand jury with five counts of wire fraud for allegedly stealing more than $15 million from his clients. Boy that wire fraud sure is popular. Tom is facing up to 20 years in prison and Erika remains steadfast she had no involvement or knowledge of his ALLEGED crimes. And we all bowed our heads and said… sure, Jan.
TELL US- DO YOU THINK TOM WILL DO JAIL TIME? IS THERE A CHANCE TOM WILL BE FOUND NOT GUILTY? DO YOU THINK ERIKA HASN’T DIVORCED TOM SO SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO TESTIFY AGAINST HIM?
