Maybe Erika Jayne should get rid of her glam squad. Just a thought! As we’ve seen on this season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, there are some things Erika refuses to downsize. One of them being her glam. Prior to her legal troubles, she claimed she spent $40K a month on glam. I don’t know what she’s paying for them now or how she’s paying for them. But we saw her fly the team out to Mexico for the RHOBH cast trip. Which couldn’t have been cheap and no, Bravo does not pay for that. Not a great look for someone who is skating on thin ice financially.
The fact that Erika has show little sympathy for husband Tom Girardi’s alleged victims has made her hated by many. She even grossly suggested in a recent episode that the victims might have received payment after all. But Erika is committed to her denial, disinterest or whatever you want to call it. Unfortunately for her, court documents have a way of bringing things to light.
Radar Online has obtained a filing made by Erika that details just how deep her financial woes are. After Tom was accused of embezzling funds from his settlement clients, his firm went under and so did the rest of his assets. And the assets that Erika had access to. Her once lavish lifestyle now over, it was now time to pay the piper and that included assets in Erika’s possession. And one very special pair of earrings that were given to her by Tom.
The earrings were originally worth $750K but are now estimated to be worth $1.5 million. As part of Tom’s bankruptcy, a judge ordered Erika to turn over the earrings within 5 days. The costly baubles would be used to help pay back Tom’s long list of creditors. But Erika refused and asked the judge to dismiss the motion, arguing that she is an “innocent spouse.”
At this point in the filing, Erika reveals the details of her current financial situation. She wrote, “My only assets are my personal belongings (which include jewelry) and my income from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills television program. I also have miscellaneous sponsorship income related to appearances or endorsement of products.” She added, “Also, in the past year, I have been trying to start a business related to hair extensions.”
It gets worse. Erika then dropped the bomb that she’s on the hook for over $2.2 million in taxes. Her filing read in part, “in approximately late May 2022, my business manager received an Income Tax Due Notice bill from the California Franchise Tax Board [(FTP) dated May 10, 2022 which states that I owe $2,226,985.77 in taxes for tax year 2019.”
According to Erika, she is “in the midst of trying to figure out the basis of this tax bill with the assistance of my business manager, who is also an accountant.” She went on to confess, “I do not have the ability to pay the FTP tax bill. I also do not know if the FTB is claiming any sort of lien on my assets, which include the diamond earrings.” The judge has yet to rule on the filing.
TELL US- SHOULD SHE BE ALLOWED TO KEEP THE EARRINGS? HOW IS SHE PAYING FOR A GLAM SQUAD?
