I think we all knew that this was coming. After news broke that NeNe Leakes allegedly started dating her boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh before he was actually divorced, we were all waiting for a certain “wig” to weigh in. And she gave us what we wanted.
The Twitter account The RHOA TEA caught Kim Zolciak in the comments of an Instagram post about NeNe’s supposed hypocrisy. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star simply commented, “Close your legs to married men.” Kim added two laughing/crying emojis and a heart for good measure. As we all know, the first RHOA reunion produced one of NeNe’s greatest lines ever. After fighting over Kim’s relationship with the married Big Poppa, NeNe famously told her to close her legs to married men.
The saying has been meme’d, gif’d and used as a fun battle cry for Housewives fans everywhere. It’s regularly used in fan groups and social media. And Kim really wasn’t going to miss her chance to use it against NeNe. As much as I can’t stand Kim, this is the one time I approve of her getting involved.
NeNe, who has always been relatively judgmental of her castmates’ relationships, is now finding herself on the receiving end. She went public with her Nyonisela back in December of 2021. The couple got very cozy at her big birthday party and she posted pics of them on her social media. After the untimely death of her husband, Gregg Leakes, it was nice to see NeNe seemingly happy again.
But not everyone was on board with their relationship. Mainly, Nyonisela’s (former) wife, Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh. She was so unhappy, she is now suing NeNe for ruining her marriage. Fortunately for Malomine (and unfortunately for NeNe), North Carolina is one of 7 states where you can sue for a spouse’s extramarital partner for alienation of affection. Nyonisela, who is Liberian, previously resided in North Carolina with Malomine. Thus, her ability to sue NeNe.
In Malomine’s suit, she accuses NeNe of sleeping with Nyonisela while they were still married. She argued that this caused her marriage to end. Additionally, Malomine said she was humiliated when NeNe posted those pictures on social media. While we don’t know the exact amount, it looks like Malomine is suing for at least $100k.
NeNe recently answered for her (supposed) crimes on Instagram Live. She stated, “I’m already out here a husband stealer and this is too much. And ain’t nobody out here stealing husbands. Are they? I would never. Nobody wants to steal nobody else’s problems, honey.” NeNe also suggested viewers “show each other a little more love.”
