Real Housewives of Orange County star Noella Bergener had so much chaos in her life last season that it totally overshadowed her fellow newbie Jen Armstrong. Jen’s storyline during her debut season was a lot while still being relatively boring and forgettable. The only time it was interesting was when we watched her marriage to Ryne Holliday crumble before our very eyes. In case you forgot, he’s the dude who never wears a shirt and is always holding a chihuahua.
Ryne and Dr. Jen’s relationship was cringy to watch. We all could clearly see the warning signs that their marriage of 8-years wasn’t going so smoothly. Her first season on TV was rough both on and off-screen. Aside from marriage problems, Jen faced the typical Real Housewives issues of financial problems and legal woes. Unfortunately, that’s the reality TV trifecta right there.
Even though Dr. Jen has had a lot going on in her life, she spent most of the season acting like a parrot to Heather Dubrow. Now that the cameras have stopped rolling, Jen filed for legal separation from Ryne. Are any of us really that shocked? I’ll let you be the judge.
Jen gave her first statement since the news broke to People that was pretty typical PR fodder. She claims that she and Ryne are distancing themselves from one another for the sake of the kids and their own well-being. “While we are very sad, we are hoping that we heal and be even stronger as a family,” Jen said. Something tells me Ryne having more alone time with his puppy won’t really strengthen his marriage, but let’s hope they prove me wrong.

All I know is that Bravo needs to gather Andy Cohen and a camera ASAP. Jen joins recently single stars Ashley Darby of Real Housewives of Potomac and Lisa Hochstein of Real Housewives of Miami. While all of these splits are relatively fresh and undoubtedly complicated, we can only hope everything comes out for the better. Annddddd what’s the harm in filming a season of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip centered around these three ladies partying hard and hitting the single scene? After the nonsense Ryne, Michael Darby, and Lenny Hochstein have put them through, they’re owed a little fun.
