Nearly seven months after Joe Amabile (aka “Grocery Store Joe”) and Serena Pitt became engaged on the Season Finale of Bachelor in Paradise, they have set up house together in New York City.
As Joe, a Chicago native, told Us Weekly, “I [recently moved to New York City]. It’s exciting . . . I’ve always wanted to live here. So, I’ll be going back and forth [between] here and Chicago.”
Even though the pair had been hoping for a Brooklyn, New York, residence, they eventually found the perfect place in Chelsea.
“I’m definitely happy about it,” Joe gushed. “It’ll make things just easier. I mean, travel’s kind of part of our lives, part of our careers and our relationship but, yeah, we love the city so it’s going to be fun.”
The engaged couple met on Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, where they instantly hit it off. Joe asked Serena to marry him during the season finale, despite some drama involving his former girlfriend Kendall Long, who had hoped to rekindle their romance.
Joe had dated Kendall for two years, after they met on Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise.

Serena and Joe were one of three couples to get engaged during the Season 7 finale. Mari Pepin-Solis accepted Kenny Braasch‘s proposal, while Maurissa Gunn did the same with Riley Christian (although Maurissa and Riley have since parted ways).
Joe remarked, “[Things] get better and better every day,” adding, “[The best part] I think is just being in a caring, loving relationship and in a normal one, you know? Being able to go out and go to a restaurant.”
Joe said about their move to NYC, “We’ve been there separately, so now we’re going to really see if we like it together.”
