Meghan King certainly knows a thing or two about bad relationships. As if we didn’t know that while watching her marriage to Jim “Jimmy Dad Jeans” Edmonds on Real Housewives of Orange County. But while we saw it in the moment, Meghan is now realizing that she was in “denial” about it. But it wasn’t just viewers who took note at the time. So did former castmate Vicki Gunvalson. She famously told Jim “talk to me in 5 years when you’re divorced.”
Well, Vicki was right. But unfortunately for her, Vicki also has a busted picker when it comes to men. With both of them coming off bad breakups, Meghan sees the similarities between the former foes. Meghan recently told Page Six, “I mean, look, Vicki and I are both not doing great in the love department, so who am I to speak?” She continued, “It sucks. Like, nobody wants to be screwed over, especially publicly, but, like, literally, she’s attracted to narcissists — and by the way, you’re looking at a narcissist attracter as well.”
For Vicki’s part, she recently went through a particularly messy breakup with ex-fiance, Steve Lodge. The breakup then took an even worse turn when Steve announced he was engaged to someone else. Which took place just two months after their alleged split. Vicki accused Steve of being a cheater and also called him a narcissist. She said of Steve, “Only a narcissist would move out of my home in September and be engaged in December. At this point I can only thank God for tearing me away from the lies, the mind games, manipulations, being used, and I am finally set free to heal.”

Which Meghan apparently knows all too well. Jim was her second marriage and they share three kids. He was also accused of cheating, with the nanny, no less. She’s now reliving the old episodes of them together while she does a rewatch of RHOC on her YouTube channel. Which Meghan admits isn’t exactly pleasant for her. She revealed, “[I felt] terrible, cringey. I felt humiliated watching it. I think I would’ve struggled to respect my character at the time having watched me in that type of a marriage.” She noted, “The difference is when you’re in that relationship, you’re not going to see it with a fresh perspective. You’re going to have blinders on.”
Meghan explained that she was too preoccupied trying to create a perfect family and life she always wanted. She confessed, “Denial is so powerful when you want something that bad, like when you want a healthy, happy marriage or a family. In order to survive and continue to work through whatever you’re stuck in, you have to be in denial. It’s a survival tool.”

But after another failed marriage, this time to Cuffe Owens, which only lasted two months, Meghan is single and looking to make sure she doesn’t repeat her mistakes. She concluded, “[I’m] doing the hard work, I’m going to therapy, I’m meditating, I’m staying really healthy. … I think, like, reflecting back on these recaps from the ‘Housewives,’ that’s also, like, therapeutic in a big way as well.”
