Vanderpump Rules season 9 is coming to a close and it looks like the finale will actually be packed with drama. Leave it to Bravo to save it for the last episode! The only big thing that happened this season was when James Kennedy (and Tom Sandoval) proposed to Raquel Leviss. All the other drama happened off screen, like Randall Emmett’s cheating scandal and break-up with Lala Kent and James and Raquel’s break-up the night before the reunion.
One new face however saved the season, and that’s Brock Davies. Brock did a fantastic job of pissing everyone off. For no real reason, he continually got in James’ face because “friendship” and tried to grift his way through the group until he and Scheana Shay got the wedding of their dreams. I laughed out loud at Scheana’s utter disappoint when she walked in to that room and realized Brock was proposing to the soundtrack of L.A. traffic. Now, James is speaking out about Brock and Scheana’s totally inappropriate attempt to scam on his engagement celebration weekend.
James and Lala were on Watch What Happens Live last night and didn’t hold back. Andy Cohen asked James, “what’s it like watching Brock’s plan play out, seeing what was going on that you didn’t know about with him wanting to announce the engagement and get engaged at your party?”
Basically, Andy’s referring to the fact that Brock’s initial plan was to propose to Scheana at James and Raquel’s party, and then decided that they should secretly get married behind everyone’s back during that weekend instead. Ariana Madix and Sandoval looked so uncomfortable and who can blame them? It is beyond tacky to do any of these things at someone else’s celebration (unless of course the couple the party’s for has agreed to it in advance).

James replied, “I’m pretty uncomfortable watching it. I’m not sure why still he didn’t just talk to me about it. The longer you keep a secret, I guess it’s got a longer time to simmer.” Exactly. Why didn’t Brock just ask James? That would be the appropriate thing to do after all. James continued, telling Andy, “watching it back it’s kind of a little embarrassing, you know?” Yep. “As a man,” he said, “I’d do things a little bit differently, honestly. I think everyone can see that.”
Not that James is a super-stand-up dude, but even he wouldn’t try to pull this move. Brock is just on another level here. Overall, this WWHL episode was one of the best in a while. Lala and James have a history of making some noise on this show, and while they definitely showed growth, they were still really fun and didn’t hold back. They also both looked amazing. If James works on his anger issues, I’d totally be rooting for them to get together.
