Kyle Richards is the “OG” on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She has recently enjoyed a resurgence in her acting career, appearing in both the horror movie, Halloween Kills, and the jolly holiday movie, The Housewives of the North Pole. She is even booked for the next installment in the Michael Myers saga, titled Halloween Ends.
Last season, RHOBH fans were gifted the national treasure that is Kyle’s sister, Kathy Hilton. Kathy can sport a tablecloth while out on the town. She chugged Red Bull and brought herself and her box fan to Kyle’s room in the middle of the night during a cast trip. Kathy is comedic gold.
Of course, Kyle and Kathy’s relationship has been strained at times. Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky, was working for Kathy’s husband, Rick Hilton, at his real estate firm. When Rick failed to make Mauricio a partner, Mauricio left and started The Agency.
During Season 1 of RHOBH, Kathy was horrified when Kyle outed her co-star, and sister, Kim Richards as an alcoholic. Kathy said that she didn’t talk to Kyle “for a long time” after that. Kyle created a scripted series, titled American Woman, which was based on Kyle’s childhood. Kathy wasn’t happy about the project, allegedly worried that Kyle might divulge some family secrets.
When Kyle revealed that Season 12 of RHOBH was already filming at her boutique opening in Palm Desert, Kathy was missing. Kathy allegedly refused to film unless Bravo showed her some serious money. But on November 11, 2021, Kyle attributed Kathy’s absence from RHOBH to her daughter, Paris Hilton’s, wedding.
In December of 2021, Kathy also stated that she wasn’t filming yet because of her daughter’s nuptials. “The reason I’m not back yet is I’ve just been doing a wedding,” Kathy explained. Paris wed Carter Reum in November of 2021. And it was quite a wedding, scoring its own reality show, Paris in Love.

Kathy reportedly signed her contract and will start filming with the Beverly Hills ladies after the holidays. Fans were thrilled that Kathy was coming back as a Friend of the Housewives.
But Kyle might not be as happy about her sister’s return as everyone else. A source told OK! Magazine that Kyle reportedly “feels it’s unfair” that Kathy is receiving special treatment on the show.
“Kathy is still billed as a ‘friend,’ so she can come and go as she pleases. Yet the producers bend over backwards to accommodate her,” the insider claimed. Kyle supposedly feels that she has “poured her heart and soul” into RHOBH. It must sting that Kathy is so beloved after just one season in a part-time role.
In addition, the sisters’ recently repaired bond could be in danger because of the show. The source stated, “Kathy knows [producers] expect her to bring drama to season 12, and she’s up for it. And that’s going to come by showing off her sisterly rivalry with Kyle.”
