Season 11 of Married at First Sight brought us a couple so quirky, that they seemed like the perfect match. Amelia Fatsi grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and was a medical resident. Amelia’s soon-to-be spouse, Bennett Kirschner, was raised in Montvale, New Jersey. He was the artistic director of a theater company.
The couple wed in the Big Easy, and their MAFS wedding was unforgettable. The bridesmaids rode unicycles down the aisle, while laughing behind veils. The bride’s ensemble included a bird’s nest for a head piece. I loved everything about this pair.
During the reception, Amelia asked her groom to take part in a beloved family wedding tradition. The bride swings an egg that is tied to a branch by a rope at her groom’s face. If he catches the egg in his mouth, it predicts a long and happy union. Bennett went all in, caught the raw egg, and swallowed it. He must have really wanted a happy marriage…or a case of salmonella.
Amelia and Bennett were both sweetly eccentric. On their wedding night, Bennett sported an extremely long moo moo, while Amelia rocked a onesie made of flannel. How romantic!
When Decision Day approached, Amelia confessed that she only decided to go on MAFS to be part of a reality show, not because she was wanted to get married. Yikes! Bennett was also concerned that he would need to move to Virginia for Amelia’s career as a physician.
On Decision Day, Bennett proudly showed Amelia, and the experts, a tattoo on his butt of Amelia’s initials. Such a unique way to announce that you want to stay married.

MAFS viewers were happy to see that Bennett and Amelia were still going strong at the reunion. The couple was living in Virginia, and Bennett was working as a solar consultant.
E! News reported that the couple filed for divorce on October 14, 2021, after one year of marriage. A rep for the duo confirmed the split to E! News. Both Bennett and Amelia still follow each other on Instagram, so the breakup doesn’t appear to be a drama-filled affair.
Bennett and Amelia were selected for each other by the MAFS experts, Dr. Viviana Coles, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Pastor Calvin Roberson. While Bennett and Amelia’s love story has come to an end, two other couple from their season are still wed. Amani Smith and Woody Randall and Karen Landry and Miles Williams are still navigating married life. They continue to share their adventures with fans on the spinoff show Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam.
