It’s not every day that you’ll see a headline where someone is standing up for Erika Jayne. When the headline is about Erika, it’s usually a new lawsuit, another wild post on social media, or every once in a while, a former Housewife claiming she “knew it all” before everyone else. But finally, someone is stepping in and standing up for Erika, and that someone is no other than Robyn Dixon from The Real Housewives of Potomac.
One-half of the Green-Eyed Bandits appeared on Watch What Happens Live this week, and when Andy Cohen asked her to weigh in on Erika’s legal/marital/financial drama, Robyn took a moment to stand up for her fellow Housewife.
Robyn responded to Andy, saying, “I kind of wish people would show Erika a little more grace and understanding. I think what she’s going through is very, very, very difficult, and to do that while filming. I can’t even imagine having to show up to every scene and answer questions about stuff that’s legally an issue. So, I just want to give her a little more grace and a little more understanding. I think she’s not reacting the way people want her to.”
What a noble answer from Robyn, right? She’s really solidifying her spot as the “reasonable” half of the Reasonably Shady duo. After all, there are a lot of people going hard on Erika right now, and we all know that social media can be a mean place. So, it makes sense where Robyn is coming from. She doesn’t want to be another pitchfork-wielding mob member dunking on Erika. And she’s right — what Erika is going through is very, very, very difficult.

But on the other hand, did Robyn read the LA Times article? Has she seen Erika’s behavior on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? It’s hard to show grace to someone who is so wildly ungraceful. Not only is there a lack of empathy towards the victims, but there’s an aggressive attitude towards anyone who dares to question her. It’s challenging. And, of course, we all want to show Erika some understanding, but it’s hard to understand a story that changes every time you hear it.
For many fans, the four-part reunion will be the defining moment for Erika. Months have gone by since all of the shocking news broke about Tom Girardi, and she’s had plenty of time to carefully plan her words. If she can show some empathy for the victims and tell a cohesive story at the reunion, we might be on the road towards grace and understanding. But if she continues to talk in circles, threatening everyone around her with litigation, how else are we supposed to respond?
