For Bachelor Nation fans, Blake Horstmann conjures up polarizing feelings. When he competed for Becca Kufrin’s heart on Season 14 of The Bachelorette he was adored by many. So much so, people thought Becca made a mistake picking Garrett Yrigoyen over Blake in the finale. In hindsight, fans were right, Garrett wasn’t a good choice.
To mend a broken heart, Blake joined the other rejects from The Bachelor and Bachelorette for a second shot at love on Bachelor in Paradise. Unfortunately, Blake showed his f*** boy side in Mexico and fans revolted. Apparently, it was surprising for BIP contestants to hear that Blake (like every other former contestant), went to music festivals post-show to hook up with as many people from Bachelor Nation as possible. Needless to say, Blake has been trying hard to repair his image. Former Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe, has been helping Blake with damage control.
Blake recently talked all things Bachelor Nation on The Betchelor podcast. During the interview, he opened up about his time on BIP, the backlash from fans, and his respect for Kaitlyn. “I love Kaitlyn. She was one of the first people to defend me after paradise,” he began.
Not only did Kaitlyn defend Blake, she also invited to tag along on her recent Off the Vine podcast tour. “She took a chance on me to come on this podcast tour,” Blake continued. “I thought people hated me,” he confessed, but, “then I went on this podcast tour,” and found that he wasn’t as hated as previously thought.

“I’m like, people don’t hate me.” Since Kaitlyn gave Blake this chance, he has nothing but great things to say. “In my opinion, [Kaitlyn’s] one of the most brilliant business women I’ve ever met. Most successful in Bachelor Nation for sure.”
It does look like Kaitlyn’s killing it – she did also win Dancing with the Stars. As for Blake, you can catch him doing the victory lap on BIP this summer. It just so happens that Becca will also be in paradise, so let’s see what happens!
