Real Housewives and tax problems go hand-in-hand these days. You’d be hard-pressed to find one city where all of the ladies don’t have back taxes or financial ruins in their supersized closets. Particularly in the boujee universe of the Real Housewives of Orange County, not everything is what it seems behind the pearly gates.
And it looks like RHOC newbie Noella Bergener is fitting right in. Noella is rumored to be the replacement of her old pal Braunwyn Windham-Burke, which has to sting knowing Brauny’s love of attention. In fact, Bravo producers rubbed salt in the wounds by allegedly hiring TWO of her friends to replace her. And while Boringwyn’s trying to play it cool, she’s made it clear she’s already eyeing a cameo next season thanks to her friends joining the cast. Please, don’t let it be so.
The news broke that Noella’s husband owes more than $5 million in back taxes to the State of California and the IRS. Her husband, who’s a personal injury lawyer, apparently didn’t give Noella a heads up about the news before it broke to the blogs, which is always a recipe for disaster.
Queen of Bravo on Twitter reposted a screenshot from @allabouttrh on Instagram that shows Noella explaining her side of the story. “I was just as shocked and disgusted to find out a week before filming.. And not from my husband. My marriage has been a fight every day since,” she wrote. While we don’t know much about Noella, something tells me any wife in this situation would not be taking it well.

Noella continued, “I am being very open about my journey and looking at every option to settle my husband’s debts. Stay tuned and please keep me in your prayers during this difficult time for me and my young family.”
It’s refreshing to see a Real Housewives star actually take accountability for their financial issues and speak the truth to the public, and not even in front of a camera. Noella’s already being more truthful than Boringwyn ever was on the show. And now we know she’ll have quite the storyline once Season 16 rolls around.
