After Kathy Hilton made her big debut this season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I’m upset it took Bravo eleven seasons to get her on our TV screens. She’s pure TV gold. Her sisterly banter with Kyle Richards is more playful (and less anxiety-inducing) than Kyle’s on-screen relationship with Kim Richards. But to be clear, Kim is TV gold in my book as well. And I’d love to see this sister trio all together on my TV sometime soon.
Kathy’s RHOBH debut was a long time coming, and it was worth the wait. While she may never want a diamond in her hand full-time, she makes the perfect friend-of who provides comedic relief and a heavy dose of wealth and fame. And while Kathy stopped watching the show after Kyle and Kim’s infamous limo brawl, she’s proving she’s a total natural.
Kathy not only has a history with several RHOBH ladies, including Lisa Vanderpump, to Kyle’s dismay. She and Kyle also have had a relationship with Real Housewives of New York OG Bethenny Frankel for decades. But Bethenny is Bethenny and if she’s not getting something out of a friendship, she tends to act like that person is not of service to her anymore. And according to a recent interview with Kathy, Bethenny gave her the cold shoulder the second she signed a Bravo contract. Commence the eye-rolling.
Kathy spoke to Bravo’s Daily Dish about reaching out to Bethenny ahead of Season 11. “Bethenny used to work for me, and she’s a friend and whatever. So she texted back, ‘Ask Kyle.’ So I was like ‘Oh, really? OK Fine,” Kathy said. Bethenny is such a sour puss. She unfollowed Kyle on Instagram after years of friendship and for what? To make her ratio look cooler? To avoid having to see any semblance of Real Housewives content on her timeline? Give me a break.

Kathy said despite B’s cold response, she reached out to wish her a happy Mother’s Day after the fact. “We’re good,” she said. Kathy seems to be the type that likes to remain drama-free, so she won’t go toes with Bethenny. But she did elaborate on their friendship, which stemmed from Bethenny working as a babysitter to Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton. “She was a jack of all trades,” Kathy said. “She helped me cook. She helped me pick the kids up at school, whatever.” Talk about remembering where you came from, yet she can’t even give Kathy a real response back.
Let’s not forget that B blames Bravo, the sole reason she has a platform to this day, for ruining her credibility as a business person. OK, Miss cheater brand. I’m all about Bethenny moving on to bigger and better things than RHONY. She just doesn’t have to be such a hater about it, especially considering it’s the backbone of her celebrity status to this day.
