Crystal Kung Minkoff Regrets Bringing Sutton Stracke Into Her Struggles With An Eating Disorder

A few episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills focused on a trip to Lake Tahoe where conflict was high and Erika Jayne sat around and pretended like everything was normal. Most people are watching this season because the spotlight is on Erika, but it’s a harsh spotlight aimed at widows and orphans instead of the stage. Obviously other things are going on with the cast in the interim, and we can’t leave anyone out.

Crystal Minkoff joined the show and Sutton Stracke is now a full-time diamond-holder, so the ladies are experiencing some growing pains if “growing painstranslates into high-sensitivity and claims of being violated. When Sutton tried to do a good deed and return Crystal’s coat, she entered her room while Crystal wasn’t dressed. I guess this one would be called #violategate. After watching the show and seeing what really happened, Crystal made a move unfamiliar to most viewers. In what might be the first time in RHOBH history, we are seeing what accountability looks like.

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave promoted it, but probably couldn’t spell it. Other ladies crow about it, but have no idea how it works. Then we have Crystal who is “showing accountability”, “owning it”, and being “open and honest” all at the same time. But now we are throwing in a little extra. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, “work in progress”.

Crystal made the trek to Watch What Happens Live along with Kathy Hilton and a good time was had by all. Kathy participated in her first shotski ever, which sounds unbelievable, but shots usually fly to her on a hoverboard, I suppose. Andy Cohen took the opportunity to address #violategate with Crystal and WWHL shared the clip on Twitter. “Watching the episode and seeing Sutton knock on the door, did it change your assessment of the situation at all,” Andy asked Crystal.

“It’s hard to watch and I feel awful for so many reasons,” Crystal replied. I was so shocked at her remorse, I lost most of my motor skills temporarily. Crystal added, “I feel awful for Sutton because I feel like she got mixed up with my issues. I feel awful watching myself, a woman struggling with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder.” I briefly checked my own pulse to make sure I wasn’t having some kind of spell because again, Crystal’s sincerity was actually quite compelling.

“That’s why I wanted to tell the girls about my eating disorder because I wanted them to know that I was still in the process. So it’s a work in progress.” Now I feel like apologizing to people I don’t even know. Andy also brought up the “violated” word. “The word ‘violated’ really kept coming up and was something that was a lightning rod for Sutton. Do you regret using that word or was that how you were feeling at that time,” he asked.

Crystal said, “I mean, I regret it to see her reaction to it. Again, it was just indicative of how I was feeling about my disorder and so she just got mixed up into it. So yeah, there’s a lot of regret on that.” Um, can someone tell Erika to watch this WWHL episode because this is HOW YOU DO IT MA’AM. Andy also wanted to know if there is anything Crystal wishes she had done differently in Lake Tahoe regarding Sutton. Crystal replied, “Everything.”

Congratulations to Crystal Minkoff, owner of a purse that could support several rural villages, owner of possibly unfortunate leather pants, and owner of accountability. We love to see it.

TELL US- ARE YOU SURPRISED AT CRYSTAL’S HONEST WORDS? WERE YOU SHOCKED TO SEE A HOUSEWIFE TAKE OWNERSHIP SO WELL? WILL SUTTON AND CRYSTAL WIND UP HAVING A GREAT FRIENDSHIP?
