Jax Taylor Allegedly Owes $1.2 Million In Back Taxes

It seems like at least one person on every reality TV show ends up facing tax issues at one point.  On Real Housewives of Potomac, we’ve (sort of) seen Karen Huger and Ray Huger owe “millions” in back taxes and Robyn Dixon make a $90,000 mistake on her reports to the IRS. Nene Leakes, Porsha Williams and others from the Real Housewives of Atlanta have had tax issues of their own. And in Beverly Hills, Dorit Kemsley and Lisa Vanderpump, despite their separate successes, have both been caught up with tax issues of their own.

It’s no doubt that the financial issues surrounding reality stars are more high profile no matter the situation. Hey, filing taxes isn’t easy for an everyday person, let alone someone on Bravo with several businesses, assets and expenditures to keep track of. And while there are honest mistakes, it is fascinating to read that those we think of the rich and famous might be facing financial woes off-screen, even if their on-camera appearances show otherwise.

And that brings me to the latest fired Bravolebrity facing issues with the IRS — Vanderpump Rules star/villain Jax Taylor. And it definitely isn’t the first time. According to documents obtained by The Sun, Jax owes a total of $1.2 million in state and federal taxes combined. An unpaid federal tax lien was filed in January states that Jax owes more than $860,000 to the feds. The former bartender’s alleged bad blood with the IRS goes back to 2014 — a tax period from which he still owes $23,000 to the feds. Then in 2018, he had almost $200,000 added to his balance. And despite buying an almost $2 million home with Brittany Cartwright in 2019, almost $650,000 was added to his unpaid balance that year.

And according to the state of California, Jax owes them more than $300,000 from the period from 2018-2019. A state tax lien was just filed at the beginning of March. And, to no surprise, Jax declined to comment about the whole thing. He’s probably too busy cruising around on his cooler and cutting his grass to distract himself from the whole situation. Or rage texting anyone who will listen.

It’s pretty bad timing for all of this to come out for the Pump Rules star. He and Britt have a baby on the way, they’re still new homeowners and he was “left” the show, so he doesn’t have a steady job to help pay the bills. The pair tried to claim they left to work on their family, but queen LVP insinuates Bravo gave them the boot. It makes sense since Jax previously said he was excited to film Season 9.

In true Jax fashion, he responded to the firing by acting like he wasn’t even interested in the show anymore anyway. He blamed the editors for making him look bad, even though he did a pretty good job at doing that himself by cheating on his girlfriend, making offensive statements and stealing sunglasses, to name a few. Hopefully, his beer cheese business with Brittany will someday take off since he’s no longer getting a check from Bravo. And it looks like Charli Burnett indeed got the last laugh.

Like I said, Season 9 of VPR is totally up in the air. Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval say it’s going to happen, but half the cast has been fired/had a baby in the last year. But Andy Cohen says he’s excited for the shift in the show, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

TELL US – ARE YOU SUPRIRSED JAX OWES $1.2 MILLION IN TAXES? ARE YOU UPSET THAT HE AND BRITTANY WON’T BE ON VPR ANYMORE?
